regardless of what happened last night, i still think mcgregor continues to rule at FW. reach is obviously a big factor in how well conor does in any given fight, and edgar is probably going to have fits with it.

in his favor, edgar has cardio for days, is a good wrestler and is very fast, but he's also proven to be hittable. maynard lit him up in consecutive first rounds (and almost put him away), so there's a good possibility that conor could finish the job.

frankie deserves his shot for sure though. looking forward to this one next, hopefully they make it happen.

Give him his shot so he can get KO'd, go back to selling cars and bring the Conor nonsense back cluttering every thread.

The question is, can Conor take those multiple hits from Edgar? He isn't the most powerful puncher, but I have a feeling he can put Conor away. Personally, I think Conor's chin isn't as great as Edgar's.

conor´s chin has been found yesterday..
BYe bye granite chin...
He always says it... chin does not recover

I hope more think like you so the line is in Conors favor and I can make some money by betting on Edgar. I made the mistake of putting Diaz in a parlay and not having a straight bet on him. I won't make that mistake when Conor meets up with Edgar.

After last night it should be very clear on what the most likely outcome for Conor vs Edgar is ...

I posted on my FB page and the UFC page days prior to the fight and predicted that if Conor couldn't finish Nate in RD 1, 2, Nate would come back and choke Conor out. I wasn't surprised at all. I knew Conor wasn't going to KO Nate that easily.

This is definitely the most interesting fight for him right now. He has no business in LW until he has beaten Edgar

How much will the disappearance of his aura hurt him? Nobody's going to care about his antics now.

I don't think Conor will KO Edgar, and I know Edgar can outwrestle him.

Frankie would submit Conor, he knows to avoid the left hand and he can get him down, remember Frankie fought at Lightweight a long time including two fights with now Welterweight Benson Henderson, he's used to fighting bigger guys.

He would definitely out-cardio him and out-wrestle him.

Diaz made Conor his bitch and Frankie will be the one to put Conor out of his misery. You thought Frankie-Swanson was bad. Just wait.

Edgar will rape Conor, there is no other way to put this....Frankie has eaten shots from monsters at LW and survived to dominate. He'll either DEC Conor or sub him. I'll put my winning from Nate on an Edgar sub.

Will be a good fight, Conor can win if he gets Edgar coming in, however I don't like his chances...as I said, Frankie is extremely hard to put away.

nah, i like edgar but he's purely a points fighter on the feet.

Edgar has the gastank and resiliency, but lacks Nate's size, power, reach, and BJJ. Edgar's best chance would be in rounds 4 and 5.

Energy efficient Conor wins by TKO in rd 3
Inefficient energy Conor gets subbed in rd 4

yeah, it could come down to edgar weathering the storm and outlasting him.

i actually thought that's what might happen last night with nate, that conor would gas if nate took him into deep waters.

This. I always felt a fight with Fe would be his true barometer for success at 55. Edgar was the champ there despite being the smallest guy in the division. The complete opposite of McGregor.

I always thought Conor at 170 was a ridiculous notion and last night affirmed that for me. The fight against Frankie will tell me even more about how he might fare at lightweight as well. Unlike Nate Frankie has never been finished by TKO or submission.

i'd assume we've heard the end of the conor / lawler discussions now.

although who knows, conor wins his next fight and half the world will be swinging from his nuts again, he'll be able to take jones with one hand tied behind his back.
