While I was basking in the freedom and liberty of July 4th I realized it’s been just about 5 years since Chris “The All-American” Weidman laid down a red white and blue ass whooping onto the MW GOAT Anderson Silva.

I remember on my old account 5 years ago everyone was doubting Weidman, but I knew since his debut vs Sakara that he would be the man to dethrone the spider. Once he KOed Munoz with that standing elbow I knew Silva was done for sure.

5 years later and Chris Weidman is on the cusp of another title shot, his longevity as an elite contender is admirable. Looking forward to Whittaker vs Weidman @ MSG.

Happy July 4th Sherbros. And here’s a hug for the hardcore Silva fanboys who never fully recovered from Teh Chris dethroning Anderson and beating him fair and square, twice.
