I have read the G&E threads for when this question came up before, but none actually got you to the desired result...I have found some sites that sell good RING prints for around $80. But no Cages....I have even found a site that caluclates the dimensions of an octagon if given just one of the variables. (it is designed for a poker table, but works for our application as well)

    Octagon Layout Calculator

Can anyone help with this? I am tired of renting cages and rings........and just cant flop down the several $K needed....I can get the labor donated so all I'll have is materials. I just need a viable blueprint. I think I would like the cage to be in the 24ft range, and it doesnt matter if it is an octagon, (i know UFC has a trademark on it) A hexagon is fine. I just need some ideas.

    thanks

Contact Throwdown. They might be willing to give you a set of their blueprints. While not real honest, you could contact the sales rep and ask to see them so you can figure out if you'll be able to do it yourself or contract it out.

And if you've rented them before you should be able to take measurements of what they've got and simply copy, if all else fails.

    Ooops.

I promised to find ours but we got evicted from our old gym and that kind of made me forget about most of the thing I said I would do.
I'll see if I can get hold of them.

    Thanks Tone,

The one on building an MMA gym was one I had not seen before. It was really informative and gave some great ideas. It could certainly be used for training they way they did it but i'm not so sure it would hold up to competitiion
