Hey, I just bought a ticket for Adonis Stevenson vs. Badou Jack at the ACC in Toronto. I’ve never seen a televised boxing card in person, what can I expect?

There will be a bunch of people there. There will be two men that get in a square ring. The man in the middle is the referee. They punch each other until one hits the canvas or the judges who are the people ring side decide who had the best punchyness

Wouldn't you need 3 people in the ring, for an event such as you describe it? How can someone be in the middle if there are only 2?

I was only describing what I saw last time. But my first statement seemed correct.

They also have these things called "rounds" and every now and again the two men go the the corners of the squared ring and are made a fuss of by about three other men for about a minute. Then they seem to be able to do better punchyness after that. Sometimes. It depends.

One of the biggest fights of the year. You won't be dissapointed.

I will definitely be buying a ticket too. I went to Ricoh Coliseum for Stevenson's fight against Tommy Karpency. Also got to see Errol Spence and a bunch of others PBC fighters. It was a solid card. I really enjoyed it. I had only been to a few UFC's and many WWE show before in Toronto.

I think Jack takes a decision. Stevenson has been fighting once a year basically.

I was just curious about the pacing of the event. When you watch on ppv there’s an enormous amount of hype between fights that's alway made me ask, what are the people watching live doing? The small non-televised events I’ve seen have all been briskly paced, no bs.

Regardless, I’m happy this is happening in Toronto. I thought this fight was a sure thing for Montreal which is way more of a boxing town than TO. I hope people show up. Lots of tickets still available.

This is a great fight. Winner could very well be top 5 P4P

There definitely can be 20-30 min of downtime between the televised fights for timing, but they do try to minimize that. Non televised card should be the same.

Lucky this is your first major event to go to, it should be awesome. I actually am going to the other PBC card that same night. Really wish I could go to yours instead, better fight. I saw Pascal at the Bell center, Montreal is a great fight city. I have a friend in Ottowa, he says that they have a decent fight culture there.. mostly Muay Thai tho. He has been to 3-4 kickboxing events since moving there in December.

You’re very lucky, I live in Australia so I don’t get to see these big fights live so enjoy the privilege, I also think Jack takes this

We barely get anything televised let alone seeing live!

I have a feeling Jack is going to get ahead on the scorecards for a bit and then get dropped with a strait left. Hope I'm wrong though. I'm ready for Stevenson's reign to end.

Exactly ! We’re the example of people who have to stream not because we don’t want to pay, but because we don’t have another choice !

Fox Sports would prefer to show a replay of golf than a live boxing card. I'm sure the promoters/distributors are charging too much but work it out. Some of the cards we've missed has to rate better than golf reruns!!

The short answer is Jack stops Stevenson, or at least takes a wide decision. I'm not a huge Jack fan, but if he gets out of the first couple rounds, he runs away with this fight.

You got Jeff Horn.
That should bring some events

We havent even got the Loma/Linares fight televised?! Jesus christ i am pissed having to find a shitty stream for this

Jack is getting sparked. I would LOVE for Badou to pull out a devastating win , but he’s gonna be too small and Stevenson should end it in the first 5 rounds.

I don’t like Stevenson at all but the power gap is going to be the difference I think.
