He was training Anderson Silva there, and there is other video training Lyoto Machidhea.

- Steven Seagal training MMA fighters, worth it?

- Could young Seagal with a full MMA camp do well in MMA?

- Could Seagal translate Aikido to MMA?

He would do extremely well with his vast array of Aikido weapon-ry skillnesses, etc...etc and stuff.

However, his opponents will need to be in on "it" so that we may be able to appreciate the wizardry displayed by this time-honored legend.

The guy is a very accomplished martial artist. I'm sure he has SOMETHING to offer.

But aikido would not translate well to the cage. He would need more than just a full training camp

Aikido is just not effective. It involves so much that depends on an opponent being a complete idiot or in on it. They make the excuses about "small joint manipulation" but that is about bending and breaking fingers. If there standing wrist and shoulder lock system worked, someone would have used it effectively in mma by now.

Aikido is self defense in an unknown weapons environment.

You basically grab at fingers and shoulders, try to break them or use them to control. If I get into a fight on a night out, the other guy normally try's something far more effective - i.e. biting my fingers off or kicking me in the bollox.

Look how it all went downhill for Andy & Ryoto after they dumped him.

Sensei Steve is like a Marv Marinovich, or a Freddie Roach. Pretty much the complete opposite of a Dolce.

I'd pick an 80 year old Gene LeBell over Seagal.

Exactly, Dolce sells snake oil - Sensei Seagull fought off the Yakuza with his bare hands.

Little known fact: The reason Aikido was banned in the UFC is because of what they saw Steven Seagal do. The guy is a legit badass.

Who is this Ryoto Machida guy? He has wins over Franklin, Bonner, and Penn.

I want sensei Seagal to teach me how to survive 14 shotgun shots like he did in Hard to Kill.
