There are plenty of examples of this thing in baseball, but does anyone know of any in other sports?

And I think we can distinguish between two types of examples here:

a) the yips

This is similar to Blass, and I'm sure there will be plenty of examples: free throw shooting, yips in golf, field goal kicking etc.

b) more vague examples

What I mean by this is not examples where its a guy not being able to perform a certain motion or action, but more his level of play falling off very dramatically or something like that, but clearly not due to being past his prime or something physical like that.

I'm more interested in the b) examples, but I'm interested in a), too.

Anyone know of any?

Guys who just inexplicably lost their abilities for no reason while relatively young?

Plenty of them in hockey...

I've heard a story where Michael Jordan was guarding Muggsy Bogues (5' 3"), and says "Go ahead and shoot it, you midget". Bogues shoots and misses and from that point his career went downhill. Bogues himself admits it.
