Let's ignore steroids. Is Anderson the GOAT? Is Jones the GOAT?

Jon Jones is the GOAT.

He's also innocent.

Everyone who has tested positive is technically innocent. It's those who haven't been caught yet that are guilty.

Jon for sure. If not for the fact he's a cheat and keeps getting caught, he would be the clear GOAT.

It's still GSP. Even with PEDs Silva and Jones aren't his equal.

Silva fought cans, nobodies and some mid tier fighters, even for his time.

100%

I also blame the Illuminati.

Anderson Silva was a false flag.

Jon Jones passed a lie detector test.

These are the things they don't want you to know.

Jones' resume is better GSP's IMO. His run is filled with superb names, and the ways he won were also largely more impressive. I think GSP deserves to be ranked above him because of what we know about Jones but if we're just going by resume it's a tough sell.

How is GSP above Jones if you ignore PEDs? He's never lost and has finished in brutal fashion most of his opponents who are of at least equal quality to GSP.

Jones' resume is much better than GSP's IMO. His run is just spectacular, and the way he won was better than GSP as well. I think GSP deserves to be ranked as the greatest ever because of Jones' indiscretions, but if we're just going by resume it's a tough sell.

Jones' run consists of :

Shot and past their prime fighters : Shogun, Rampage.

Middle weights : Belfort, Sonnen and Machida. All of them past their best as well lol.

Mid/average tier fighters : Bader, OSP and Glover.

Good and great fighters still in their primes. : Gus and DC.

So that's only Gus and DC as his most relevant wins.
Gus fight was controversial so that only makes DC as a good win he didn't struggle with.

Hard to argue against the man who dominated his division and never lost a fight

I think GSP is still GOAT. Jones would be #2.

Jones has awesome names on his resume, but I think the fact that he has so many former champs on the list suggests that LHW was quite an even division, not that the skill level was overall higher than in other divisions.

Playing devil's advocate I'd say Jones generally won in more impressive fashion and doesn't have two losses on his record (Jones should have one legitimate loss, the number is correct, it's just credited to the wrong name), and he was never finished.

On the flip side, GSP has more wins total, a win over Bisping at MW (not worth huge points, but worth something) and more top 5 wins.

So overall it's close. Jones has probably cheated himself out of putting it beyond all doubt with his various indiscretions,

Good post. I would say if you are arguing Gus beat Jones you could easily argue Hendricks beat GSP. I think the Hendricks GSP decision was worse personally and I absolutely hate Jones.

Jones completely dropped the ball. He has damaged his career more than any opponent ever could.

Jon Jones is the GOAT, no one else is even close.

GSP, and Anderson have both looked human before. Jon has never looked human, and honestly someone beating him is unimaginable.
