You might want to check your math.

March 27 fight happened
April 27
May 27
June 27
July 27
Aug 27 next fight happens ( could be the date)

6 months.. could be less..but hes not fighting any sooner...is he ducking too?

This dude...has a crazy ability of making himself dislikable. I could understand him not continuing that fight....but everything he did after that ever that is just dishonourable. Straight up ducking Petr, and nowadays flexing that belt like he won it.

Whatever, he's getting stripped if he's not ready to defend the title in 6 months.

There's no chance that Dana would allow him to hold one of the hottest divisions in the promotion hostage.

6 months..

Is this some kind of a joke? This is 5 full months tops.

Francis fought a few days before the start of April. It isn't 6 months from March 27th until August.

Aljo is a fraud. He's taking the time for the surgeries now, but he was angling for a fight with Cejudo within hours of taking that knee to the head. You know he would've been all over that fight if UFC expressed interest in making it.

Aljo is a shameful champion, he's a disgrace to all of martial arts. Yan made a 5 second mistake and has already paid the price for it.

Yan is the one to blame and the disgrace..

Cheated and can control himself emotionally then makes up horrible excuses...
Oh i didnt know the rules...my corner said this....oh i couldn't hear my corner...

Stfu...the dudes a bully and street thug who got frustrated and cost himself the belt fuck em..

Go learn the rules and then come fight YAN

What champion in UFC history has been stripped in 5 to 6 months who was injuried??? Lol

Stay salty

It's been a month since he fought and people are demanding he FIGHTS RIGHT NOW! hahahaha.. You guys should go see when the last time Zabit or Yair fought, it'll give you a heart attack.

It's gonna be a long few months of crying whilst he sits out, get the tissues ready boys.

I wouldn't mind if he gets stripped and have Yan vs Cory/TJ winner for the vacant title. Sterling can get an immediate title shot upon his return.

You’re so edgy. Lol

The only one here who sounds mad is you. You know damn well this dude is ducking Yan haaaard. Lmao
Y’all are mad. My man gets the belt another 9 months and I get to GLOAT #ALJOFUNKINGBLESS

Sterling troll game is on point. He's growing on me

Regardless of it being somewhat amusing troll game, he's tanking his stock with the fans. He won't be laughing when nobody cares to watch him fight and his ass gets shipped to Bellator.

Wouldn’t be mad if they stripped him of the title at this point..

So if he needs 9 months for recovery, safe to say he won't fight for a full year?

Putting my dislike for Aljo aside I don't think Dana will let that happen, not with the way he won the belt. Ferguson and Covington were stripped for less and they were more legit than this guy. At the very least there will be an interim title fight involving Yan.

I’m a little banged up, lingering issues from ten years ago,” Sterling began. “It’s just gotten progressively worse with every single fight camp. I’m at a point now where surgery is potentially on the table, just getting some muscle weakness in my arm. If I don’t have some miracle release of my muscles where I can actually start to do push-ups and pull-ups again, I really don’t know what else I’m gonna be able to do other than the surgery.”

“I don’t think letting Petr Yan pick me up and slam me on my neck plus the knee, that combination of everything, I think that was the straw that broke the camel’s back between those three things was the perfect storm. Now, I’m in this position,” Sterling said.

Sterling would then lay out the specific procedural options he could be looking at, one of which could see the new champ sidelined for up to nine months before he can even begin to fully train."

lmao what a shitshow.

If he needs to get surgery, then it is what it is. If he's out for too long, they'll set up an interim fight or strip him.

If he's trolling and ducking, then I don't think it benefits his career, but perhaps he sees it as his best option.

If he's stripped, he may never see a title fight ($$$) again, and may be in the dog house permanently.
