He got hit with harder shots and was rocked badly in the 5th round of their 1st fight. Hobbie gets hit too much, dude couldnt nullify Horys offense at all. Wonderboy basically shut him down outside a couple exchanges.

Wonderboys defense and counterstriking will be the difference. Hobbie has taken too many shots, he will likely get knocked out
 
He'll get picked apart from the distance and get typically beat up like he does in all his fights.
I don't think he can steal an undeserving split this time.

But Robbie will never have a better fight than the Rory one. That was a once in a decade type of fight
 
Remember how Lawler handles KO power? He takes hits and guts it out and then wins decisions he should have lost.

If Robbie finishes Wonderboy then that would be a signature win. At this point Rory is the best fighter Lawler has actually beaten in their second match. That was an exceptional win.
 
Thompson might KO Lawler in beautiful fashion but might lose due to Lawler's power, grit, aggression. I'm not sure.
 
Lawler and Wonderboy will be competitive, but I think the Wonderboy picks Lawler apart for a decision win unless Lawler can close the distance and clip him for a TKO/KO.
 
That speed and elusiveness though.....dude is very, very quick. Lawler will have fits trying to connect.

Maybe. We will have to see. I'm a Lawler guy. I'm a Wonderboy guy. I don't like Wonderboy's chances after seeing the Rory fight. I really expected him to finish Rory brutally. Wonderboy went from likely the next champion to possibly just a gatekeeper in one night for me.

I agree. Rory looked bad more than Thompson looked great and generally to be the champ you should look great. This was not a close fight and for as much as Thompson won in every way, it was not a memorable performance. Having said that, Thompson's off-night was waaaaay better than Rory's off-night so I'm not going to say he won't step it up in the title fight.

Agreed. I see Lawler eating some shots bu ultimately having too much power, and too much heart.
