Stephen King books you recommend reading.

The Stand is great.. up until a certain point. Then it goes off the rails and gets pretty cheesy imo.
That is literally every Stephen King book I have ever read though. Really great and engaging writing. Shits the bed in the last 10% of the book

IMO The Talisman is a great book that gets little mention. I loved it. The follow up, "Black House" is good too and let's you linger in the world a little longer.

Plenty of classics to choose but I recommend The Talisman and enjoy a great book that's not always on the recommended list.
Nice, I'll be sure to check them out as well.

I've seen most of the movies that were based on those books, I liked them a lot.
I'm sure I will like reading the books even more.

Haha I will warn you that the Misery movie is better than the book. Kathy Bates nailed that shit. Caan and Farnsworth were great as well.

I keep hearing that, but so far I've enjoyed all his work including the endings. Maybe I just have shit taste?

I heard that about The Shinning as well, but honestly I enjoyed the novel a little bit more just because I liked King's version of Jack better than Kubrick's version of Jack.
But noted.

I've been getting into Stephen King's work lately and I have to say it is pretty fucking great. from what I've seen so far. My question is, what are some of the Stephen King book that you recommend reading? So far I've read IT, listened to The Shining and Carrie on audio, and I'm currently reading Pet Sematary.
What SK books should I read/listen to next? Let me know, Sherbros.

I really like the dark tower series. It gets weird as hell but its engaging. You cant go wrong with most of em though but I'd recommend against the eyes of the dragon. It was his foray into traditional fantasy and I just read it and didnt much like it.

Cool, King wrote a few books under the Richard Bachman pseudonym from what I understand. I'm sure I will end up reading them all at some point.
Well, lets hope it is better then the Darker Tower movie.

It's a lot easier of a book to adapt imo. The long walk was great though. Slipped my mind, that's one of my favorites.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.

The regulators is pretty good too and doesnt get as much acclaim as alot of his stuff.

Well from what I understand, adapting the Dark Tower into one movie is sort of like trying to adapt the Harry Potter or The Lord of the Rings series with one movie. It couldn't be done. Also there is a bunch of Lovecraftian esque stuff in there that is hard enough to adapt into film as it is correct?
Thanks, I'll be sure check that out as well.

Pet Sematary, Tommyknockers, the stand, Thinner, Misery, really anything he wrote while he was addicted to coke

Running Man has a pretty satisfying ending while still being dark

The dark tower is his best stuff imo. The stand is worth it. Beyond those i find clive barker to be a more rewarding. King has his moments though and the dark tower is one of the best stories ever.

Lol at Dark Tower Ending...

My favourite, even though it made me cry is Dead Zone. Don't even think about Cell, it's like he dredged up his notes from when he was 12.

Dead Zone is absolutely perfect.
