News Stephan Bonnar passed away (RIP)

This fucking year, this shit break my heart, too many passings this year specially at the end.

RIP Stephan Bonnar, dude gave a lot to the sport, my condolences to his family and loved ones.

Very sad news. It seems that he suffered a lot during his last years. RIP legend.

Demons are a complete bastard. Stephan went through hell in the final years of his life, and we all saw it unfold. Between finding out his wife wasn’t being faithful and apparently screwed around on him, his body breaking down, his opioid addiction, his home burning down, the DUI arrest, his gym closing down, the hospital video… it all was really quite sad to see a man who the world got to know as a seemingly affable, witty guy who never had a boring fight have his life spiral out of control like it did. It’s not shocking to hear this, sadly, but it’s still tragic all the same.

The best I can say is we should all remember that affable guy who had quite a few laughable moments on TUF, who’s fight with Forrest brought so many new fans to the sport and SAVED the UFC, who left it all out there every night he stepped in the cage, not the final years of his life where it all fell apart.

RIP Stephan. Hope you are out of pain and in peace now.

Well said. Very sad the way it ended for him, but I take solace in the fact that he will be remembered forever in UFC lore.

Went back and watched his fights over on fight pass in tribute to him and I must say he’s got underrated ground game.

Also the Jones fight was more competitive than I remember, I mostly remember the suplex but Bonner was in that fight.

He trained for quite awhile in Chicago with Carlson Gracie. Definitely had the chops on the ground.

RIP Stephan Bonnar. Very tough back to back months losing both Rumble Johnson and Bonnar. Very sad to lose them both at relatively young ages.

So sad this news..
45 is no age at all..
He paved the way for a generation of fighter's by putting it on the line with Forrest in their famous epic scrap and showed the true heart of a warrior..

I've not been in here for a long time but just saw the news of his passing..
And along with our own BWR my sympathy is with anyone and everyone who felt these deaths..

Much love to all sherbro's, stay strong folks..<{JustBleed}>

It seemed like he was getting it together again. Great fighter, but great personality too. He was always amazing on podcasts and his "war" with Baroni.
