Stefan Struve talks about the dark period when he contemplated a different career path

Eye poke, though, Dr. Brul
Is it really that hard to give a fighter credits for a great accomplishment? I doubted him before but I think he's gotten his act together.

Not like he deliberately eyepokes opponents every fight. Shit happens, it's called fighting.

I didn't read anywhere in the snippet what that other career path was. Did I miss it because the text was intelligible, or is it really not there?

Struve still looks somewhat lanky and I think the 265lb limit will hold him back eventually from reaching his full potential.

Just responding to the comment saying Struve beat him down. The finish came immediately after an eye poke, where Stipe was wincing and clearly couldn't see properly. One has to factor that in.

He beat a lot of bush league and irrelevant guys, most of whom have since been cut from the UFC. He could fight in a different promotion, preferably at SHW, but he is not a UFC calibre fighter in 2016.

He JUST won!
If he's not UFC caliber, what does that make Bigfoot?

I hope they give him a winnable fight. Let him get his confidence up.

Should have retired. He is only in for more horrible KO's if he keeps fighting. Beating Bigfoot means nothing at this point. And it hasn't since they banned him from using TRT.

Datsik knocked Arlovskii out does that mean he belongs in the top 5 of the UFC?

Destroy is too mild of a word for what Stipe would do to Struve if they fought now.

Datsik didn't knock Arlovski out IN THE UFC....

My ex once had really dark period blood when she ate bad cod. It was pretty disgusting.

Disagree. Definitely has a lot of mileage but so did Robbie Lawler. Deserves to be in the UFC and has potential to be a serious contender.

Off top of my head I'm willing to bet Overeem has taken more KO losses and damage then Struve. Heres Overeem with a new calculated style hopefully getting the title shot.

Did he stop because he saw his girlfriend and wanted to make babies?

he literally beat his ass the whole fight. it wasnt like it was even and he eye poked him and won.

stipe has gotten better since then, but that doesnt change the fact that struve beat his ass

War Struve. He is a warrior of the highest caliber and deserves no more than the utmost respect. I still remember his fight with Stojnic, Struve almost bled out on the mat but had no quitting in him and got the sub in the end.

His heart problems, as well as all the personal stuff he had were obviously massive issues and I think it is perfectly understandable that he had a dip in form. I hope now he continues the promising progress that led him to the Hunt fight.
