I remember Journey getting a lot of praise when it came out. I’m not familiar with Edith Finch at all. That’s my two cents to this truly bizarre and pointless argument.

I never played any of these games either. I've thought about buying Edith Finch a few times but just never did.

It was fun to look back, had my own little "journey" lol.

I was definitely thinking of Gone Home with negative thoughts mostly.

I was mashing that, Edith Finch, Dear Esther and Ethan Carter. A lot of those walking simulators blended together in my memory. Finch was prob the best of them, felt more like an interactive poem, but I always had a soft spot for Dear Esther, being a source mod initially. I had a lot of fun exploring different projects in that engine. I never played the official release.

I remeber Gone Home annoying me because it was the most bland of these (really short too iirc), and prob only got the praise/awards because of the coming out/lesbian angle.

Journey is prob a 2020 game for me, but I wouldn't rank it high in any year list, but I never mixed it up with any other game. I would like to run through it again at some point, can't say the same for those aforementioned walking Sims.

That said, I get annoyed when critics (not steam awards) do the indy bandwagon on a game for awards. Some deserve it but some are like a mid singer with a human interest story winning a talent show ... it seems to be about the point the critics are trying to make more than the game.

Dizzy hasn’t posted much either or maybe he’s just in other forums. He’s usually active in the Doom and Resident Evil threads. The website is beyond broken. I’m pretty sure people are getting tired of it and am I to be honest. Yesterday my phone kept locking on me and that only ever happens here. Other times my posts get deleted with a browser refresh. Sometimes I accidentally click the dumb ads and it sends me back to the previous page. Not everyone has the patience to deal with this.

When all the changes first happened I was having a ton of issues also. Now that you mention it though I actually haven't had any issues with the site. Also on mobile you might want to try a different browser. I've noticed lately that as much as I love the google browser it's turned into shit lately. Firefox and Opera are much better IMO. I haven't officially moved browsers yet but I plan to soon.
