So I haven't play any zombie games for the newer systems except for Resident evil and I really want to get into a zombie game. I looked up different titles and these popped up alot.

Which one do I buy? Which is the best? What's the differences between each?

State of Decay - 3rd person true open world survival horror, recruit other survivors, loot, build bases etc. Even on Xbox One though it runs like ass (terrible frame rate and prone to glitches). Not a super easy, or casual accessible game IMO. But i like it. Its different

Dead Rising 3 - Really fun, casual open world, dress up in ridiculous costumes, craft insane weapons and mow down zombies, has a relatively interesting story. Pretty easy game, has co op also. Loved it. (also the timer thing from the first two where you literally had a set amount of time to beat the game is gone, which i prefer since i wanted to loot everything and take my time)

Dying Light - people love this game, true survival open world gameplay from a first person perspective, lots to see and do, weak story. Its like Dead island, people think its better, i think Dead island is better. I don't like Dying light personally.

Dying Light is the bomb if you aren't scared of heights.

I'd like to add to this just a bit.

State of Decay has some simulation elements to it. Not only are you building bases and gathering survivors, you also have to manage resources that are consumed by your encampments, the better your supply status the better your group moral. I really enjoyed this game as it had a lot of fun ideas behind it. But like 76Knockout said, it's glitchy as hell. The quest elements fell really flat too, you end up doing the same missions over and over and over. Really looking forward to a sequel to refine the systems they have in place.

DR3 is fun and way over the top. Literally killing 25 zombies in a single attack. When I was leveling up my character you could get your combo kill count in the 1000's easily. I like that they removed the timer system from DR/DR2, but you kind of lost the sense of urgency and I would just end up not helping anyone.

Dying Light starts really strong and when traversing the city you feel pretty exposed, but once you start getting some levels under your belt and descent weapons you just start to lay waste to everything in your path. Lost steam for me towards the end where I didn't really care about the story anymore and was just doing stuff to unlock abilities and then rush the end.

I found all 3 to be pretty enjoyable, and are all 3 really different. So it depends on what kind of a game your looking to play.

All three are good, but I love Dead Rising 3. It's a zombie game for fans of Saints Row, GTA, and Just Cause. There's a story, but you can just roam around and do side missions and destroy things as well.

All three of these games are great experiences. Dying Light if you want true horror and zombie killing survival. Dead Rising 3 if you want mindless zombie-killing fun with a friend or solo. State of Decay is more like Dying Light only in third person. It feels cheap and there's basically no story. I'd get Dying Light over State. Dead Rising 3 is super underrated i had a ton of fun on that game. Get both if you can!

Does Dead Rising still have those stupid timed missions?

I hated the first two because of that. Always felt like I was getting pulled in 5 directions at once.
