I would like to get some feedback from Sherdoggers about what you would like to see on your shirts. I am going for a clean look and steering far away from Afflictionesque designs. I have some shirts already designed but before I launch the site I'd like to get a little bit of input.

The company is going to be geared towards boxing/mma and will feature high quality organic(Bamboo, hemp and cotton) shirts that are reasonably priced. Bamboo shirts will be roughly $30 as it's a very expensive material.

If you have any suggestions please feel free to post them here or send me a pm. Thanks in advance.

P.S. I'm a veteran and I plan on making a line that will donate the proceeds to MWR (Moral, Welfare and Recreation) and DAV (Disabled American Veterans) both of these organizations have been amazing and helped myself and my friends when we either overseas or since we've come back.

That's great, man. I wish you luck with your business.

As for feedback, check out the winners of Cageside's t-shirt contest in the sticky up top. That's the kind of stuff G & E guys go for.

a shirt id love to see is like half the shirt a war like in iraq a soldier(preffably marine) in a foxhole etc. and other side a war in the cage standing on the ground and on the back like thanks to our troops you kick ass over their we kick ass over here etc. find a patriotic quote but have the inside of the letters in american flag pattern. thats all i can think of but good luck man

I will be checking back from time to time. If you're interested in designing for us send me a pm. I am already talking to someone from the Cageside Contest who's designs I liked.

I'm a screen printer, and apparently the guy running the contest had a problem with me printing my winning design. He wanted me to send him the artwork so he could use his own printer to print the t-shirts. I declined to let him use my design, so I don't get the 1st place prize, and he doesn't get the rights to sell my design. Personally, I think it would have sold well, but what can you do?

Gotta follow the contest rules, bro. I guess you could still make the shirts yourself if you wanted to.

Thank God. I MUCH prefer subtle and classy to all of this busy, flashy crap that is "all the rage".

I can appreciate this as well and look forward to being able to support your company. As far as $30 Bamboo shirts, I don't think that price is bad at all; $60-$80+ for a t-shirt is (IMO) ridiculous, but $30ish for a quality shirt is perfectly acceptable.

Just my .02

The rules said nothing about submitting copyright privileges to the cagesidemma. I rarely sell all rights to my artwork because I make money from printing my designs. American Express doesn't accept mma gear as payment. lol. I can't make the shirts with the words cageside MMA on it, but I may see if another mma company wants the design with their name where cageside mma would have been.

Was your design the one with the red star on it?

I thought the rules were pretty clear about it being a t-shirt design in exchange for gear as prizes and a check for your charity.

Too bad you couldn't work something out with Boomer. He's an awesome guy to deal with.

Boomer is a really stand up guy. I bought stuff in the past from Cageside and never had a problem. I'm trying to get in touch with him to see if we could possibly do something together in the future. Boomer if you're reading this send me a pm!

starting a clothing company is not easy, ive been working on mine for a couple months now, mainly the funding and legal aspect of it. Trademarks/Copyrights, forming a corporation/llc. Business License.

Im now at the design part of it and will be printing next month. about 60 shirts.

Good luck rogue. I can tell you that It's been interesting. I just got the Incorporation complete. I have a few things pending that may really give my line some serious exposure.

It's a good idea. If you have a crisp design it will stand out more. The designs that feed off of Affliction sort of get lost in the shuffle.

High quality is nice. I wouldn't worry about the $30 price tag, since $20-$25 is standard for a Hanes with a screened logo on it. If the shirt looks nice, $30 wont need to be explained.

YEah i will have to go ahead and agree with the statements regarding avoiding the "affliction" trend...

Come up with your own design and you should do fine!

Also $30 a shirt (i beleive that is what you said in your initial post)...
Now that Afflication shirts are going for about $5000 a pop...your shirts are a STEAL!

Hardest part imo is getting a printer you trust.

Take everything with a grain of salt and never let the haters bring you down.

Started (or restarted) a company last year and started a new company this year.

I like clean, simple designs. Also, do more colors than just black. I've got 5 black MMA related shirts. I need some bluse and grays, maybe even some reds. Just no skulls. I'm not the kind of guy to wear skulls.

We have a gray shirt, brown shirt and a navy shirt coming out

it would be nice to get some grapple/fight shorts that are less than 50 bucks. same thing with rash guards

Don't know about fight shorts but when we make rash guards they will be 35 and 40 respectively
