You guys are overrating "mental games" way too much.
There is a mental aspect to fighting, yes, but there is mainly a physical and a technical aspect, where Gane is way better than Lewis.
Btw, the fact he didn't engage in a stupid brawl on stage doesn't prove anything. It's in the cage that we'll get to see who is the best.

Gane is a huge beast. But he’s a Frenchman. So as big as a monster as he is he fights timidly he just wants to tap you to death. he fights like a 150 lbs fighting a he. Even though he’s bigger and stronger and faster. Just
No power. Very few ways to finish a fight despite being so big and fast. but that’s due to his confidence. A guy that size should be stopping about everyone ge fights. Especially with the new breed shit again.
It’s mind blowing how a guy that size doesn’t have greatnpower especially in today’s hw division and isn’t just waxing these guys.

Gane is looking at security to make Lewis stop ring aggressive.

In all of my decades ive never seen a guy reacts timidly and looking for help on a stare down. And then nobody does anything and he’s all out of sorts.

I have never seen that ever. I think gane will win. As it will be death by a million paper cuts and Lewis is just a guy with a punch. Can’t grapple. Just a one shot timing guy you can stand at distance and stick all night and work his body and he’s done. Or grapple him and make it quicker.

so we got an interesting one

first thing we can see right away is that Derrick " the black beast" lewis is trying yo intimidate le bon gamin right away, like a gorilla in a jungle he beat his chest,scream and run towards is opponent.
The goal here is clear,he is trying to show he is the alpha and that he is in his territory..but the only reaction he get from cyril is a smile ,wich piss him off even more , clearly Cyril don't see him as a threat but as something entertaining, he start even laughing at him.
the two are separated and then they face off again, eyes to eyes this time.
you can clearly see the doubt in the eyes of lewis as he begin to talk and make some hand gestures to hide the fact that he can't hold against gane ice cold staredown.
he even break character start smiling and disengage as he know he is losing.


the conclusion is ,after this face off,from my expert point of view i can clearly say.
cyril his in is head and derrick is shook.

Nah Lewis is getting to Gane a bit. He pressed him early and moved him back without resistance from Gane at all. The smirk isn't always finding things entertaining, sometimes people smile a defense mechanism. When they face off again Lewis pressed him again and Gane looked to security for help instead of offering resistance to Lewis himself. Lewis kept making contact on purpose and Gane was trying his hardest not to make any contact or push back against Lewis. Gane also blinked and moved his mouths/lips first during the second stare down while Lewis was still staring him down eyes locked. The hand gesture you are speaking of happened after that and it was Lewis making an uppercut motion to his chin and talking shit to him while he did it. He said all it takes is one time, Lewis is telling him he just needs to hit him clean once and he's out. Lewis is in his head a bit and Lewis is letting him know it's going to be a fight (dog fight) and not the style of fight that Gane likes to fight with.

Of course this doesn't clearly predict who's going to win or not, but Lewis is in Gane's head a bit. Will it affect him during the fight? We'll see tomorrow.

While Derrick (understandably) did it with more fervor than usual today, he always gets in his opponent's face during the stare down.

It is important to mention that there are different smiles (not just in mma)
Some smiles are anxious, some smiles are 100% from being triggered (common misconception is that "triggered" is always an explosive or violent reaction ,but real "triggered" is a frozen face or an awkward smile).

Gane did look a bit too comfortable in there. I think most people would back away from someone trying to bring fist way too close to their face. In the end he kinda did look annoyed, but really , for the most part he looked like he was chilling on the beach with a cool drink in his hand.

Notice how Lewis had to slightly touch Gane multiple times, because he created too much tension and lost. He had to win something , so he put his handss on Gane to win some sort of trophy.

I didn’t read, but I hope no one is taking any of this serious. This is all comedy, right?
