Just assuming all Star Wars talk is now in this thread, anyway an article posted about James Cameron's opinion on The Force Awakens

“I have to say that I felt that George’s group of six films had more innovative visual imagination,” he told YouTuber Keely Stinner in a video now made private, but which several outletspicked up this week.

“This film was more a retrenchment to things you had seen before and characters you had seen before,” he said. “It took a few baby steps forward with new characters. So, for me, the jury is out. I want to see where they go with it.”

Daisy Ridley Working Out While Hiding New Rey Hairstyle

She's been working out hard for the next film. Is it because the role is rigorous or she just wants Rey to be buff? Maybe Rey gets a new outfit in the next movie to show off her hard work

Lol, could be any of them.

But maybe she does it for herself mostly? Enjoys working out, or just looking good or the health benefits? Or a little bit of everything.

STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII Wraps Filming; New Behind-the-Scenes Photos

Apparently Ridley has deleted her instagram account over some backlash about an anti-gun post she made

Ridley met a group of teens whose lives has been affected by gun violence at the Teen Choice Awards, and later wrote on Instagram:

“[As] I sat in the audience yesterday tears were streaming down my face at the tribute to those that have been lost to gun violence. I didn’t get a great picture of the incredible group that came on stage but they were so brave. It was a true moment of togetherness. We must #stoptheviolence.”

Comments poured in, many of them supporting Ridley’s message, but others swiftly criticized her. Pro-gun users said Ridley was a hypocrite due to the violence present in the “Star Wars” franchise and saying she did not understand the issue.

Kenny Baker, the Actor Behind R2-D2, Passes Away at 81

British actor Kenny Baker, who played R2-D2 in the first six Star Wars films, has died at the age of 81. The Guardian first reported the news of Baker's death, quoting a statement from his niece, who said he died after a long illness.

The niece, Abigail Shield, told The Guardian of her uncle's death, “It was expected, but it’s sad nonetheless. He had a very long and fulfilled life. He brought lots of happiness to people and we’ll be celebrating the fact that he was well loved throughout the world. We’re all very proud of what he achieved in his lifetime.”

“When he was a child, he was told that he probably wouldn’t survive through puberty, being a little person in those times, they didn’t have a very good life expectancy," Shield said of the actor, who grew to 3 feet, 8 inches tall. "He did extremely well in his life. He was very ill for the last few years so we had been expecting it. He had been looked after by one of his nephews, who found him on Saturday morning.”

Shield explained that Baker met his wife Eileen after an appearance on the Michael Parkinson TV show. She wrote in, saying she was also a little person and wanted to meet him. "They got married soon after," Shield said, adding that Eileen died of epilepsy about 20 years ago.

Shield added: “He had problems with his lungs and was often in a wheelchair. He was very poorly for a long time. He was asked to go out to LA for the new Star Wars premiere but he was told he was too ill to travel. Luckily he did manage to meet George Lucas again when he came to Manchester.”

Baker was also able to attend the London premiere of the latest Star Wars film, The Force Awakens.

Baker first played R2-D2 in the first Star Wars film in 1977. He went on to reprise the role of the droid in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi as well as the three Star Wars prequels George Lucas directed from 1999 to 2005. In addition to the Star Wars films, Baker also appeared in Flash Gordon, The Elephant Man, Amadeus, Time Bandits and Labyrinth. He also had a role in The Goonies TV series among other small-screen appearances.

I'm not hitting the like button for this , I'm hitting the Sad Face Button :(

That Yoda had more expression and feeling than any cgi bullshit we saw in the prequels. A freaking puppet out acted the entire cast of the prequel trilogy.

I blame the writing and the directing, there was serious talent in those movies that was squandered.

"George, you can type this shit, but you sure has hell can't say it." Harrison Ford

Loiosh, the puppet Yoda somehow managed to convey real human emotions. Whether it was done through dialogue or through the puppets face and eyes.

As kids you were drawn to that figure. The way he looks, acts, as a kid he was as real as it gets.

Unbelievable they managed that from a puppet. It's amazing really

Was watching this with friends yesterday, Kenny Baker part got the biggest pop at 30:35. Anthony Daniels, massive prick.

Preaching to the choir, man.

Back in the eighties I used to go into the TV room and watch Yoda lift the X-Wing every morning before going to school. Puppet Yoda was awesome.
