This movie internationally will easily gross $1.5 billion and I think realistically will be close to that mythical 2 billion mark which only a few blockbusters have hit.

Domestically I can easily see it clearing $700 million. I myself will probably go see it 2-3 times in theatres and I think most "fans" will too.

I'm going to go with 701+ in this case. Star Wars has a huge fan base. I think an even bigger one than the Jurassic Park franchise. So after giving it some more thought, I think it could definately outperform Jurassic World.

I wonder if it can outdo Titanic or even Avatar worldwide though.
 
I posted a cool box office chart to use as a comparison. After reviewing it I think I might want to change my statement and say maybe not easily $700 million domestically as I suggested earlier but I still think it's very possible for Star Wars Episode VII to pull off. Disney knows how to market the shit out of their movies plus Star Wars is a generational tentpole movie.

500+ domestically and 1B overseas = 1.5B. If it gets rave reviews I can see it pushing towards 2B.
 
The highest domestic grossing movie is Avatar at 750 million. The next two are Titanic and Jurassic World both around 650-665 million.

I could see Episode 7 grossing the majority of its Box Office after Christmas like Avatar did. I think the Holiday season will hurt it's opening weekend a little. Movies released during then tend to have smaller opening weekends.

My guess: Opening Weekend: 155 million.
Domestic Total: 690 million.
 
Hell the biggest opening weekend in December is the Hobbit with 84 million. I can see Star Wars opening under 150 million based on that. But the hype is unreal. And Jurassic World proved Nostalgia goes a long way.

School will be out and all the kiddies and tweens will be spending that Xmas money on Star Wars tickets. They'll need something to talk about over their game headsets while bro'ing out and playing the new CoD BLOPS 3 this winter.

No offense to the Hobbit but it's no Star Wars.

Avatar didn't open too crazy but it was the word of mouth that kept it chugging.
 
Man, this is a tough one to predict. I voted $551 to $600 million, but am in no way confident with that guess.
 
Avengers made about $620m. Damn, if that's the case, I think Star Wars might make $700m. Hype for this movie has been insane. Everyone I've talked to said they'll watch it, even if they're not fans of Disney.

As someone said, nostalgia goes a long way. If Jurassic world could do 650, freakin' SW is going to top Avatar.

Not a lot of people i talk to even know SW is owned by Disney.

I voted 600-650. There isn't another tent pole movie out until Deadpool in Febuary. That means SW:TFA has 6-8 weeks all too itself.

If its actually great, it could do low 700s. As others have said, I think 2 billion WW is the most it can make.

Should have clarified. Some so called Box Office Analysts are predicting the biggest opening weekend ever, even bigger then Jurassic World. Like 250 million domestically. It's predicted to make 600-650 million worldwide opening weekend.

I'm lowering expectations because of the Holiday season and the unpredictable weather during then in America. Hell, bad weather affected Avatar's opening weekend.
 
Didnt take too long for a leaked footage of Luke. Interesting to see the trailer this Monday....supposedly during MNF..

A couple of months back I read rumors of Luke not using light sabers anymore due to his mastered use of the force. I thought that was really lame if true but now I see I have nothing to fear. I hope he does some saber ass whooping.

Well that would be bullshit. If Luke didnt have a lightsaber in the movies JJ Abrams would need a serious ass beating
