And Han 100% called Kylo BEN..
Just got back from seeing it again in IMAX.
I still stick with 8/10. The last duel is still ridiculous (despite the explanations why Rey got the better of Ren).
Han did call Kylo Ben.
Feminist agenda is strong in this one (its basically been admitted "this one's for the ladies") - could have been called Star Wars E.7 ; I Am Women Hear Me Roar.
BB8 is cool.
Is something wrong with Carrie Fisher she was by far the weakest acting in the film (she has a weird lisp or something).
Seeing Han, Chewie, Leia and Luke made me feel old.
IMAX viewing was cool but had to close my eyes a few times as I started to get dizzy (haha).

Oh and I just had a thought: how many people total did the Starkiller base blow up? Grand Moff Tarkin's little wannabe grandson killed like 10 billion people didn't he?
Without The First Order to take over the Galaxy and replace the Republic - and without a recognized government for the Republic - individual planets and systems will no doubt descend into war-lordism. Gonna be a galactic free for all...
its what happens when you've recently had a face lift.
I think gender, race, etc., only become a problem in art/fiction (not just in film) when they're the reason people criticize or applaud the character.
"She's great because she's a woman" or "She sucks because she's a woman" are equally sexist statements.
"He's great because he represents a minority" or "He sucks because he represents a minority" are equally racist statements.
What matters is how interesting the characters are. And IMO Rey and Finn are great characters, period.
Prime Ahsoka Tano ("Rebels" adult version) would tool the fuck out of Kylo Ren. Fact. Dual White Light Sabers FTW.
This is surprisingly true. Race and gender are interchangeable.Does the gender of any character in this story actually matter to the story or could every single character have had their gender swapped and their choices and actions would still make just as much sense (which, of course, isn't the same as saying they make total sense)?
Sometimes Lucas comes off as a stereotyper, which pleasantly cannot be accused of TFA. Then again I think I can appreciate the provincial colonialism because the STAR WARS of my heart is a post apocalyptic samurai western. And at least it's not Bay-level gratuitous.Agreed. Star Wars has always had a sense of equality, at least to me. Anyone who watched Clone Wars or would at least join me in watching Rebels would see that there are quite a few powerful female characters. No agenda. Just good characters.
If Rey was a dude would it be because of a masculinist agenda?

Saw it the second time around...and still a 5/10 for me. Movie almost seemed comedic...and goofy. Like you're watching a Pixar film or something, but the story line sucked.
I don't care what anyone says....The movie seemed very dumb down, just like most every other film plopping out these days. Hipsters would agree.
I thought I would never says this...Phantom Menace > Awaken
I loved it and I had a lot of fun watching it. There were definitely some moments that didn't need to be in there and it took away from some of the plot lines that needed to be explored more but I think this sets up an even better movie for Rian Johnson to write and direct.
Hell, Clone Wars era Ahsoka would could him a run for his money.
