Whoa, just came across this video and it blew my mind. Just watch it before you dismiss it. Even if you disagree you have to admit there are some pretty compelling arguments.

It's true. The voice actor as much as admitted it.

I can totally see Lucas planning that, and then wussing out because after the phantom menace everyone hated jar jar so much and just wanted him to disappear from the movies, so Lucas changed his plans.

It's too bad Carrie Fisher's a basket case, otherwise they could involve her more.

Like what if Luke did train her to reach her full potential with the force, but they did so secretly? Because if people knew she was a Jedi then she'd have a target on her back like Luke does. But she chose to learn the force, but she never liked the whole lightsaber aspect of it, that would be cool. When the time is right, and she's forced to use her powers, she could walk around doing some Jean Grey level psionic stuff.

It's too bad, but I think she'll have a small role in the next two films as well.

She can't even move her lips now with her facelifts and botox. The Wall spares no one.

If Luke knows that Ren turned to the dark side, then he's a jerk for going into hiding. He should feel obligated to stop the man he trained from taking over the galaxy. Instead, he's just like, "Whoops, I gave an evil guy the power to take over the galaxy. Man, I'm in soooo much trouble. I'd better hide before my sister finds out."

The only viable reasons for Luke to go into exile, would be

1. If he needed to do it in order to defeat Kylo/Snoke. Like they were such a huge threat that Luke needed to focus on training himself to become even stronger with the force, and that kind of focus required complete isolation.

2. (and this option IMO would be the coolest) If Luke started to feel a strong pull to the dark side, and he worried that he could be turned just like his father was, and like Kylo was. And so we're faced with a Jedi who's not really good enough to beat Snoke, because he's so conflicted internally, but he still trains Rey while he deals with his dark temptation, and he tells her that she'll likely have to kill him when her training is complete because he's losing his will to resist the temptation.

I think they have to do this, otherwise we'll see a trilogy in which Han and Luke are both deadbeat dad/uncle villains. More daddy and abandonment issues, though that might be appropriate for Millenials.

Am I the only one that feels maybe Kylo Ren spent more time training himself to use the force and not enough time training with a light saber? He seemed over powered in one skill and under powered in the other.

Finally saw it, I give it a 6/10

First of all, it had the same plot as Episode 4. A direct copy, which is unforgivable. That being said, I still enjoyed it overall. I still love the universe, the SFX were fantastic except the tiny orange bitch with the glasses.

The character of Rey sucks ass. Don't get me wrong, Daisey Ridley is fucking amazing in it (and drop dead gorgeous), she ALMOST makes you forget how terrible the character is. Overpowered, never in danger in any situation, more powerful than the Big Bad, it's just ridiculous.

I liked Kylo Ren. I could've done without the temper tantrums, but I dig the inner struggle he is going through and the scene on the bride was badass. The actor was great in the role.

Poe Dameron is cool as shit. Oscar Isaac can do no wrong. Probably my favorite actor right now.

Yea it's strange that Kylo was bested with a lightsaber. He's been using it regularly. In this Star Wars iteration novices can pick up the weapon and be competitive. So why isn't Kylo better with it if he's experienced?

Theory has been around a while

While an interesting theory, you guys dont seem to take into account the actual conversation regarding this very topic in RoTJ.

Obi-Wan: "Then the Emperor has already won, you were our only hope..."
Luke: "Yoda spoke of another..."
Obi-Wan: The other he spoke of was your twin sister."

Seems to contradict normal foreshadowing of what actually happened. I always hated RotJ lol. Vader makes more sense all day.

No. The most they got into it was Han saying that it was legit and some old dwarf critter had a few words about it as well. I'm sure Luke will expand upon it in the next one.

That's a shame, considering it's the only movie where "The Force" is actually in the title. I was hoping the concept would go back to its Taoism/spiritual roots, as opposed to the scientific, midichlorian crap they introduced in the Prequels.

I think it can be easily explained by saying he puts too much emphasis on his force powers, because some of the things he does seem almost more powerful than Vader.

Maybe almost getting murked by a newbie in a light saber duel will open his eyes and guide his training in episode VIII

I didn't hate Clones like everybody else seems to, at least partly because of wagon jumping and internet hive mind imo, but if Jar Jar would have been revealed to be a powerful Sith, it would have been epic. He was just too cartooney, and people didn't like all the blue screen BS and took it out on Jar Jar. Could have been hilarious and sweet.

I have liked all of the Star Wars movies.

Jar Jar is actually pretty creep looking.

Its really annoying to hear the same ignorant comments about the kessel run from people who dont know what it is and why its measured in parsecs not time.

Yes, I think so, too. I think this also indicates how relatively crude his training is. He's all talent. Often the most powerful force-users aren't necessarily the best warriors. For example, Shaak Ti might have been the most powerful force-wielder in terms of her mastery of force powers before the fall of the Jedi, yet she would have been carved up by the likes of Obi-Wan or Maul with a saber.
