I get the angle he was going for that you are all screaming...he's hurt, he's emotional...blah blah
bad direction to go with that character as regardless, in the end...we saw a cry baby sith wanna be get his ass kicked.
there is no amount of horse meat he can consume that's gonna make me see him as anything more than a cry baby sith wanna be who got his ass kicked.

My thoughts exactly. We don't get a bad ass sith like Darth Maul, Dooku or even Anakin ffs, we're given this lanky dorky looking queef who might or might not be Han's degenerate child. Ohhh the cliffhanger. Lets not even talk about Phasma and Snoke,
Rey was a good character though, and I didn't mind Finn as well. They just got the villains all wrong for this film.
That's really confusing and I don't want to put that much effort into it.
Thanks actually, that helps a ton.Actually, Wookiepedia is way easier to follow now. Spent all day on it yesterday. You have Canon tabs and Legends tabs. If you want EU content click on Legends. If you want to see where a player fits in the movie landscape, click Canon.
Prime example,
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Han_Solo
Canon= Dead
Legends= Alive
These are the things I would've changed about the movie:
1. Luke and all of his students would've disappeared mysteriously. Nobody ever knew what happened to them. Then for most of the movie we don't know who Kylo Ren is. He could be any one of Luke's students, or even Luke himself. When Han meets Kylo Ren, that's the first time Kylo removes his mask, and Han discovers that Kylo is his missing son. Would've been a much more dramatic reveal than the way they did it.
2. When Kylo is using the force to read Rey's mind, and she in turn reads Kylo's mind, I would've had her say something that indicates that she's actually gaining knowledge of the force by reading his mind. Something like, "Your knowledge of the force is immense, but even you don't realize how to utilize the full extent of its power." Then Kylo slaps her to stop the mind-reading.
2. When Kylo gets shot, he's obviously distracted/conflicted over what he did to Han, but he's still got the power to stop bullets/bolts/whatever in mid-air. So I would've made him attempt to use that power on the crossbow bolt, but he does it a little too late, so we have this cool image where the bolt freezes as it's already entering his body, causing severe burning, he screams in pain as he falls out of the way before releasing the bolt so it can go explode behind him somewhere. This would get rid of the people questioning why he didn't just use his power to stop the bolt, and also it explain why the bowcaster kills everyone else but not him, and it would also make his injury more severe, weakening him for the final saber fight.
3. In the final fight Kylo is VERY injured. Not just a dude punching his side, but he's REALLY hurt. Like he blocks a few strikes then he falls to his knees for a sec. Gets up, blocks a few strikes, falls to a knee again, etc. Still, even in this condition, he dispatches Finn in seconds, then the fight with Rey lasts a little longer but he still dominates her. It's impressive enough that she's even surviving against him given his lifetime of training, but at the end of the day she's no match for him, even in his gimped state. Instead of the fight ending with him on his back, it ends with her on her back, before the earthquake separates them.
Then in the next 2 films we find out what happened to the rest of Luke's students, and we find out about Luke himself.
Who knows man, they have plenty of time to salvage the character, he's still a young kid. Maybe by the end of episode 9 you'll be able to look back and laugh at all the shit you're talking because he became your favorite character. It's still early man
Apparently neither was Kylo...lol!
Half of what made star wars so great was darth vader being a great villain and having to confront that obstacle.
Having watch Lucas fuck up on villians in 1-3, I was really hoping JJ wouldnt do the same, but he did.
I'll give Kylo the benefit of the doubt, yeah he looks confused and not like a legit bad guy, but the storyline is trying to build him as an insecure young guy who is trying to live up to the "almost unreachable" image of Darth Vader, there is still a lot of room for growing in the dark side there, and I wouldnt doubt the direction for the actor was to look insecure and conflicted because we are still to see his path into the dark side, like I said I will give the actor/director the benefit of the doubt, we still have 2 movies to go.My thoughts exactly. We don't get a bad ass sith like Darth Maul, Dooku or even Anakin ffs, we're given this lanky dorky looking queef who might or might not be Han's degenerate child. Ohhh the cliffhanger. I honestly think you're just complaining to complain at this point, nothing will or would have made you happy. So I'm just going to ignore all of your opinions on the subject matter and go on enjoying my day and enjoying Star Wars without looking at your posts shitting on anything and everything involved with it.
pretty sure I've detailed what pussified Kylo Ren. I didn't do it, JJ did. You just wanna excuse it. It's ok for you to like a pussified villain, I won't judge.
She's around 19, Obi Wan died about 33 years ago. Could be his grandaughter but that's still farfetched. She's either a Solo or Skywalker imo.So is Rey a Kenobi or a Skywalker , either one is a possibility since we don't know anything about whathe Obie Wan did after Revenge of the the sith other than whatever some expanded universe stuff made up in a book , also the 30 year gap between return of the Jedi and the Force Awakens leaves a question mark about Luke as well . Or hell she could be unrelated to either one too
I don't think there's a need to salvage anything. I loved the Kylo character.Who knows man, they have plenty of time to salvage the character, he's still a young kid. I liked the character, was basically talking as if I were BVG.I don't think there's a need to salvage anything. I loved the Kylo character.
