the way i look at it, the dude is likely the same age as anakin was when anakin was seduced by the darkside - i.e. still a young guy and inexperienced, despite his force ability (just look at anakin vs. kenobi). he's got a lot to learn and i'm pretty confident he will redeem himself as a villain in the 2nd or 3rd act.

I don't really know what else to say to you - you're saying you've already seen all this but not having a bad ass kylo ren who can basically do anything at any time, injured our not, despite multiple other jedi and sith who have previously shown that injuries, fatigue and emotional state definitely does affect them, is the reason why you have issues with Kylo? when has any character show this ability to be omnipotent? vader? no. the emperor? no. luke? no.

yes we've seen the death star blow up - we've also seen countless number of ships blown up, storm troopers shot, flying sequences with the millenium falcon,

we saw luke get his ass kicked by sand people, the abominable snow man, darth, thrown down jabbas hole, but he redeemed himself in the end.

we saw han & chewie save the day multiple times

if this bothers you that much, i highly recommend you don't watch the next 2 episodes.

Even though his tweets can’t be considered canon, Pablo Hidalgo (the man in charge of curating the continuity of the franchise) posted what will most likely become the official explanation for why the Starkiller beam was visible from Maz Kanata’s castle.



So I wasn't that far off. Not an echo but an actual tear in hyperspace created by the firing of Starkiller Base.

Even though it's a good explanation, the implications are mind boggling. Starkiller Base doesn't just blow up entire solar systems and literally kill stars to power itself, it also causes untold environmental damage on a galactic scale as a side effect of its deployment.

It was good, but some holes need to be filled. They would do well to show that she in fact had training and her mind wiped or something. They need to start thinking about writing this in if they already have not. I mean, was it just magical girl power? But yeah, she did absorb some of his thoughts.

We've got an emo guy who's a bully with a lot of power that he doesn't know how to control yet, who picks on a girl that's not afraid to hit back, accompanied by a black guy who happens to also be her love interest, and he ends up learning a lesson in humility. Oh, and Kylo also works with a young Hitler and his Nazi brigade, and they are all environmentally unsound thanks to the space tearing death lazer. If Finn turns out to be muslim we'd have the most pc movie eva.

This is also why I feel that the visual of watching Rey toss around a light saber shouldn't have been blown in this movie either.

I should feel that she's very much the underdog when it comes time for her to fight Ren. I should be worried for her, and this shit shouldn't have played out in this movie.

I'll reserve judgment until I see what they do. I already said I thought how they handled the the climax took a couple steps back but it's not irredeemable.

Honestly i dont want to have to fill in the blanks with my own imagination. Plus if its explained later on then it still makes this movie just a setup movie. That can put it in competition with being as bad as the phantom menace once the dust settles.
