I thought he tried not to kill her because his master told him to bring her to him? I dunno. I am interested in what they do with Rouge One since that is supposed be more about the ground troops in a galactic battle.

Captain Phasma is the spiritual successor to Boba Fett:

-Looks cool
-Does nothing
-Goes out like a punk/bitch

They should reveal her to be Boba's daughter.

Few weeks ago I got some wrist wraps that have her helmet design on them. Thought they looked cool and it looked like a badass character from the trailers. I don't even want them anymore lol what a throwaway character

Also...

INTO DARKNESS > THE FORCE AWAKENS

I can get on board with that. Into Darkness is underrated. And The Force Awakens is definitely overrated.

How about,

REVENGE OF THE SITH > OR = THE FORCE AWAKENS?

LMAO

As disappointing as some aspects of TFA were, I'd still have to say TFA > ROTS. ROTS had just WAY too much CGI, bad dialogue, and stupid stuff all around. At least PC-Star Wars (TFA) had more classic effects and wasn't quite so stupid. (Though I definitely shook my head during certain parts)

The best part is that the image of her walking, looking all cool from the trailers is literally seconds before she gets KTFO by a wookie right cross.

On a similar trailer note, was it just me or did they use a different shot of Finn when he fought Ren than in the trailer? In the trailer as Ren menacingly approaches him he seemingly forgets he has a saber and then hesitantly fires it up and looks absolutely terrified. It came across way more like "bring it on bitch!" in the movie and it hurt the moment.

I first knew of Adam Driver from HBO's Girls when it premiered in 2012 and his appearance wasn't very flattering to say the least.

Then in 2013, he was rumored to be Nightwing in Batman v Superman. Fan reaction was an overall "Noooooooo..."

When he was announced for Episode VII in 2014, I thought he would make for a good villain.

But I was really surprised how good looking Driver looked in The Force Awakens.

He's so fucking ugly. He has that David Schwimmer, please stomp my face into the pavement look.

They should have used Truce at Bakura or Shadows of the Empire for script.

Hollywood is mismanaged.

He does not look like the spawn of Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, but David Schwimmer and Miyam Bialyk or however you spell her name. When he took off mask I cracked up.

Why is so hard for people to understand why Kylo Ren got his ass handed to him by Rey?

1. Ren was shot by Chewie, so he was injured

2. He was emotionally unstable. A punk. A Vader wannabe. Rey is intrinsically better at attuning herself with the force.

3. Ren never had his full training, as is confirmed by Snoke in the end of the movie.

4. Rey was probably a student of Skywalker's and got left and memory wiped by him for some reason. She definitely has training.

5. Ren wasn't even trying to kill her as his orders were to bring her to Snoke.

6. Mighty Mouse is #1 p4p

Agree with most of this

Ren will complete his training and unleash hell as a monster heel all through the 2nd movie. Character development.

I don't about that; Shadows takes place right after ESB (right?) and Truce is directly after ROTJ.

Still, I can't really feel a whole lot for these new kids in TFA at all, especially the supremely unlikable Rey.

Try as they might, none of them carried the movie; it was Han, Chewie, even Leia, 3P0, R2, and Luke that gave the film its punch. I see no way how Rey will win over audiences over the next two films with Luke there. It's basically his trilogy again as far as I'm concerned.

I think that wont be a problem since as far as I've seen, you are the only person she failed to win over.

I like Rey, I think she did the best out of everyone. If anything the few seconds we saw of Hamill was pretty uncomfortable imo. I do think that Han and Chewie helped carry the movie, but Rey was fine. Finn meh, same with Kylo.

Rey's parents? Obviously Luke banged some Midichlorians.

Agree with #4, I think Luke (probably her father) was her teacher as a child, then after kylo ren and others (knights of ren?) Went to the dark side he hid her and wiped her memory to protect her.

Good movie not without its faults, like the original star wars films. I give it 8/10.
I would so close to episode 4 atm. Upon further viewing and more time to reflect it may move up to behind ESB. I doubt it will move below any prequel though.
I like how they left Rey's past a mystery still. I would hope they don't put the full truth out in a comic or book and just expect everyone to know it come episode 8.

The relationship between the new characters is rushed. At least in A New Hope, Solo, Leia, and Luke spent some time together on the star destroyer getting to know one another. They did not embrace each other until end of movie when all is said and done. That is the right way to establish it.

The action scenes are all take from the original trilogy or prequels, and in fact they used the same locations.

Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman were poor choices, and not because they are bad actors. They just aren't meant for Sci Fi. But this time the script wont fit any actor. They try to put to many things in one movie. Rey was okay. But she can be better if they gave her a script.

He could have left her with a well to do family. At least Luke was given to a couple with a means to make ends meat. What an ass that Skywalker? Even Anakin had a loving mother.
