Going to see this in a few hours. I'm gonna have a raging hard-on when I see the Falcon slicing through space. I love that ship for some reason. ESB was awesome with the scenes of Han maneuvering it through the asteroid field

some of my extended thoughts on the movie:

-Daisy Ridley was exceptional in it.Really great performance
-the only performances that didnt convince me were the originals (Ford&Fisher)
-CGI and 3D were on point as well
-I like the fact that Kylo Ren is an "Incomplete" Villain
-Unlike most Blockbusters nowadays SW7 didnt seem bloated
-I hope that SW8 will take more risks in terms of where the story goes, as SW7, as mentioned, was very similar to SW1

youre being obtuse on purpose.. Its actually very funny. Youre literally disagreeing with what the Fn movie stated to the audience.. Youre laughable at best.

No the imperials had no clue to where Solo went, That's why they dumped their garbage while Solo and the crew hid against a tower on the star destroyer..

Fett took it upon himself to hide in the garbage shoot not the other bounty hunters who were also assigned with finding them. You clearly see the Star Destroyer go to hyperspace and Fett wait in the garbage while Solo revealed the Falcon (that had no working hyperdrive) obviously something Fett realized.

Thats more there than simply tracking. Fett literally outsmarted Solo at his own game. Vader and the Imperials as well as the other bounty hunters did nothing of the sort. BUT Fett did..

Vader even made it a point to specifically tell Fett, "no disintegration process." Did Vader say that to the all the other bounty hunters, the giant robot IG-88 or Bossk the giant lizard. NO he didn't. He specifically singled out Fett. Which just cements how much of a badass he is.

keep trying kid maybe youll actually watch the damn movie sometime.
Jesus Christ you're dense. I already said that he followed the falcon. That's pretty much all he did in that movie aside from snitching to vader when the falcon got to cloud city. Waiting for the falcon to try and sneak away with the garbage makes him smart, not a badass.
I noticed you stopped trying to argue that Fett captured anyone. Good call, that was just silly.

If you're talking EU then i'd agree that he's a badass. If you're talking empire, no he wasn't.

This thread is better then the movie is

lol. Oh my fucking god. It was supposed to be similar to a New Hope. That was the point. Jesus tapdancing Christ with these nitpicky fans who cannot be pleased.
.

This is the funniest one I read so far
Keep them coming

I am happy a lot of people are not buying the hype and seeing this for what it is:
A crap derivative movie.

If the public didnt care so much about "spoilers" the boxoffice would be considerably lower.

Alas, i dont know who invented this concept anyway, spoilers dont spoil anything. A good movie is a good movie watched for the first time or for the 100th. A bad movie is a bad movie with or without surprises.

I always spoil myself and it doesnt make a difference.

If anyone who didn't entirely miss the point and premise of this movie has an interest, there's a novel called Star Wars: Aftermath that explains the new-canon and politics behind the First Order and New Republic. I haven't read it myself but I've read the summaries, it's not well reviewed but the info on the plot is at least interesting.

It is not similar, it is a copy.
And no book should be read so the plot can make sense. The movie has to make sense by itself.

Lightsabers were terribly overused in the prequels to the point of making them meaningless. The duels were overly choreographed, stripping away all emotion and intensity. I was glad they recognized this and treated the lightsaber with respect for the new movie.

Ye except they let a dumbass whos not even trained use one and do well with it. When I saw what ever his name is whip out the light saber in the trailer I lol

I really don't want to read through this thread to find your reasoning, so could you please tell me what exactly didn't make sense?

If you love the Falcon, you're going to be very happy.

I don't even care so much about the redundancy with A New Hope. Abrams was clearly going for a courting the old-school fans vibe and he probably felt the easiest way to do that was to do a reboot/remake/sequel. As far as sequels go, this is reminiscent of Hangover 2 or Home Alone 2 Lost in NY in terms of being almost the exact same scenarios just with different characters taking on the function of previous characters and slight alterations. But hell, I didn't mind that.

I just felt that there were lulls. There were stretches that were very good and then it felt, at least to me, like the wind got sucked right out of the movie for a little bit. I will give them that the last twenty five minutes or so were very exciting and didn't let up. But the air battle to take out the core or whatever was just the same Star Wars air battle we've seen so many times. It was the Ren/Rey/Finn stuff that was far more interesting to me.

Though Ford did a damn good job. Scene between him and Fisher was solid.

30 years ago the empire was shattered.

now not only it is back but also the leader of it is a moron. Why? Because he made a huge weapon with the same weakspot as the previous superweapons.

The focus of this plot should have been something completely different. Not a civil war again.

You do realize that SW history is essentially a big loop right? All the same stuff has happened before and will happen again.
The empire and its predecessor incarnations love superweapons. Fucking love them. It's entirely believable they'd do the same thing.

I can't believe we're going to have to listen to Sansara for the next 5 years concerning these movies.

Lol. I'm sure he'll suffer through them and give us his thoughts.

Sansara is to Star Wars as to Adamant to comic book movies. :D

And they have choosen to be crap. And i have chose to hate it.

Maybe next movie we will have a fourth death star, i guess people are going to love it.

I am trying to bring balance to the hype.

I hate hype.

Expect me ranting in double when batman x superman comes up. I fucking hate Zack Snyder.

The First Order's latest secret weapon is two planets tied together to form a new GalaxyKiller Base.

I'm in the theater waiting for it to start right now. I wish I hadn't gotten here so early but oh well. 45 more minutes to wait.

Honestly u need a desperate re watch of the movie.

It's implied heavily he's a bad ass. I already have plenty examples how is is From the movie.

He even talks back to Vader, something no ones does.
