Star Wars Megathread

I had a friend die overnight from a heart attack at fooking 42 yrs old & this is the first time I've posted since last Thursday. Work's heavy atm on top of all that... & all that makes all this seem so small by comparison... but of course if you want me to give you my take on an article... just link me to it & I'll take it in & comment.

So sorry to hear that. RIP to your friend and I hope his family will find the strength to endure during this tragedy.

Yes it is small all things considered.. I wanted you to see this https://forums.sherdog.com/posts/164275543/ but in retrospect there is no rush so you will get to it when you get to it again no rush take all the time you need to handle your priorities.

Tartakovsky's Clone Wars is one of my favorite pieces of media in the franchise. You can watch the whole thing in one setting and it's basically like a movie. It's up there with the original film, Empire Strikes Back, and kotor 1 and 2.

When they say the first appearance of Boba Fett they are talking about one of the skits from the holiday special LOL. Not surprised they don't mention that. I wonder if they're releasing the actual holiday special or just that one segment in isolation, not a bad idea really.

The Ewok movies.... man at some point when I was a really little kid I watched part or all of one of those ewok movies, and for the longest time I thought it was a weird dream I had or something. Nobody I knew had heard of them, and I couldn't find any evidence or conformation that such a thing had actually existed.

Agreed.

I also really enjoyed Tartakovsky's Clone Wars, I still remember the awesome way they instilled fear with General Grievous character.. he was done in the most menacing way ever better then the movies/animation.

Yea first ever Boba was a cartoon in front of the Holiday Special and I think Disney+ has every SW content now even the old and kinda C level or how to call it low budget made for TV stuff that got swept under the rug years after because it was to corny and campy.

That seems like awfully minute hair splitting.
The difference between "a thought out act" and "a momentary reaction" is pretty significant imo. It's the difference between Murder & Manslaughter in the US court system. Temporary Insanity will get you off of many charges in a court of law as I understand it.

The movie clearly states that he went to talk to Ben. This was not pre-meditated & should not be misrepresented as such.

Thank you bro.

This article points out a deliberate attack that in many cases was from legit fans, (past fans) and imo that's okay if legit heartbroken fans want to chat about their distaste. I personally feel like they got a little addicted to their campaign to the point where it became sport for them to shit on SW's but at least many of them were legit fans to begin with.

That said, the article also points out the obvious & blatant manipulation of social media by groups that don't give a fook about SW & never did... & just used it as a place to either get their hater fix or to spread their political propaganda, as well as the obvious money that they make from their hater videos that I've mentioned many many times throughout the years.

In many ways this isn't new. We detected this stuff way back in the early TLJ threads... especially the money made from hater vids... but further... some people even came right out & admitted they just don't like women in lead super hero rolls or in positions of power like KK. A lot of this stuff was revealed, but it's cool to see this guy's study of how many of this connects to accounts who are just in it for alternative reasons that have nothing to do with SWs.

Thank god for a small rogue squadron of Sherdog heroes that ran out the worse of them against all odds & armies of haters dogpiling them daily. If they didn't actually know the source material... their was a light shined on them that they didn't like & there was no way they could bullshit their way around.

These heroes should be given rewards of valor & a place among the Sherdog history for the brave work they did to keep Sherdog clean of those who would spread these messages of political propaganda with no real interest in the source material. They eventually found too much resistance here & so they split.

You're welcome Sherdog

You can say that again.

This guy has me on ignore. Not sure how he even saw what I wrote since Luke didn't quote me... but am I expected to take abuse from someone who I can't retort to in this thread @Kaybee?

It's very real that we've been backing down anyone who didn't know the SW's source material since the beginning. The troublemakers that don't even care about SW's... that the article spoke about didn't stand a chance in here.

It was a bit of fun saying we should be given "rewards of valor"... but the underlying reality that we called out anyone who didn't know the source material is very real. They tend to drop off really quick when someone calls them on their shit. So these people that article spoke about who have other affiliations & agenda's... found no ground in which to grow their seeds of hate on Sherdog.

At the very least it would be hard to argue against the fact that we kept those people from expanding their operation here. As a result... Sherdog SW's threads are not the joke other social media outlets have become.

We disagree often, but least our haters know the source they're speaking about. This article shines a light on the fact that people who have no idea about anything SW's are running the show on other social media outlets. We ran them off.

Your welcome Sherdog
