I expect this thread to die fast, but anyone else notice that each of the show-leading Star Trek captains have a drink that gets associated with them through the episodes - with one exception.

Captain Kirk:

Saurian Brandy

Captain Picard:

Tea. Earl Grey. Hot.

Captain Sisko:

Raktajino (Klingon Coffee).

Captain Janeway:

Coffee. Black. She beat the Borg with it.

Captain "Grow a pair" Archer:

Nothing? Water? Who the hell cares?

What does it mean?...

It means that, just like people in the real world, people in science fiction also have their favorite drinks.

Its not just Captains.
Guinan got Worf into "Prune juice" and it carried over to DS9

Scotty would drink anything that was hard alcohol. in fact in the sole Next gen episode he was on, he complained about there not being any real alcoholic drinks until Data found him some.

Picard's family was making wines so I would expect him to drink a red one every so often.

Chief O'Brien drank coffee, Jamaican blend, double strong, double sweet.
Jadzia Dax drank raktajino.
Ezrie Dax drank Worf and Julian's sperm.

Ezrie Dax was the worst character ever. Looked like a 12 year old boy. It's only because that stupid show, Becker offered Terry Farrel more.

I'm not sure if they offered her more money or if it was that she new DS9 was ending and wanted a more stable job. Although I'm sure Becker didn't last long.

She started having issues with the producers and some castmates. She actually wanted to do the 7th season but by then the producers were done with her attitude and she wanted them to film around her schedule, so she got the boot. She pretty much quit Hollywood by the early 2000s and became a housewife.

Apparently the shooting schedule for Star Trek is always pretty brutal. A lot of people can't handle it. Despite Ezrie Dax, the 7th season was still one of the best.

The Star Trek series made usually 23 hour long episodes a season, nowadays the standard is 10-13 30 min episodes. Whats really crazy is, star trek was producing multiple series, and movies at the same time. Just a insane amount of content being produced.

Sulu likes tea. There was an episode of voyager that flashed back during undiscovered country. Tuvok served under captain sulu and tried to kiss his ass by bringing sulu some vulcan tea.
