staph and acne

is it easier to catch a staph infection if you have acne? I have quite a bit on my face/back, nothing too terrible but it's still significant enough that I'm worried that I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between early staph and a big pimple.

also, does the acne act as "open wounds", or easy potential infection sites? I just don't want to end up with a randleman through my face... lol
