i curently studing kenpo and the system is all stand up while sparring where allowed to go to the ground most of the people their just gnp if they are on the ground i will go for subs i get them on but never put to much pressuer on the other guy just securethe hold. people at my school say im good but alot are smaller then me (im 5'11" 330lbs) so ithink its just my size that allows me to sub. my ? is how could i go to a jj or a bjj school and just spar to see how real grapplers work subs. my main concern is not disrespecting the school im going to and not getting any to think im trying to prove my art. really i just want to test my self in a controled area.and learn something. im in the fresno ca. area if any one knows a good school thanks for any help
a lot of schools will let you take a free class, or at worst will charge you a small mat fee. just go in and be honest with them and they'll probably be stoked that you came to them to check your game against them.
