Why would they make rules? If they dont want you, they can just cut you. They wanted Miesha back. Why make a rule you wont foillow when you dont feel like it?

Some fighters that age still have some purpose, even if it is just to put over younger talent.

I'm sure you've noticed the Dana commonly follows losses, especially if the fighter is past their prime, with "i wish ______ would just retire and not take extra unnecessary damage". Despite the UFC also being at fault for making multi-fight deals, I don't disagree.
Also, they can't just cut you.
Notable fighters sign contracts to state the term and compensation protecting them from being cut on a whim. They have to either honor the contract, pay out the fighter or get sued for breach of contract if there is term left.

But yes the MUCH bigger issue is that she developed a skillet that was just barely enough to succeed in the primordial stages of WMMA and seems as though she never continued to improve her skills from there.

Meisha has some of the ugliest striking I have ever seen in MMA.
The fact that she has a fighting skill set as ugly as it is and she is a former UFC champion is sad.
