Economy "Stagflation worse than the 70's"

"I have a preference for hard assets in general and they're both fantastic."

Me too. I am a gold bug for about 25 years now. Because of my relationship with gold, I got into crypto pretty early (2016). For many years there just seemed to be a lack of understanding of our economic system and it's weakness. I've always considered gold (and silver) to be a central part of any portfolio and bitcoin (and other crypto) was a more speculative play on hard assets. Now that bitcoin has matured, I consider it less speculative.

I used to buy and sell BTC like a hot potato before I knew what the hell it even was, and that was stupid. Not because I lost money, I turned profits. I thought I turned really good profits from doing that.

<36>

Oh, fuck me. My goodness. Needless to say, I do nothing but stack and hold now regardless of the price action. I don't even pay attention to that any longer, DCA is on autopilot and I dump 10 million Sats at a time into cold storage.

Some gold. Not a lot compared to Bitcoin
Ok. I thought I remember you being very dismissive of gold a few years back. I'm a big investor in bitcoin and have minor positions in other cryptos. My portfolio continues to be very overweighted in gold and silver.

The bottom line is the world needs better money. I'm still rooting for crypto as well. There shouldn't be a monopoly on money (legal tender laws).

Sad thing is Trump is trying to forcefully remove J Powell in the hopes of getting interest rates lower sooner. How is he going to accomplish this? Bully the rest of the Federal reserve board I assume. Sounds like an astronomical mistake

Same way he does everything.

Do wildly illegal shit he doesn't have the authority to do.

Face no accountability because Russia owns so many congressional Republicans you can't make a coalition of 38% of conservatives in the house and senate joining forces with Democrats to censor or impeach the president.

Fucking Hell.

Attempting to force him out is bad, really bad.
Yeah…. It definitely is,
I may make a separate thread on this if I have time, but sources saying Trump will soon invoke Schedule F to make it easier for him to fire 50,000 workers.
This in addition to what he’s done already.

No real surprise, this is straight out of Project 2025–crazy how he keeps doing stuff from that playbook when he knows nothing about it…
This psychopath needs to be removed from office ASAP.

That thing (P2025) is a fucking towering manifesto. I said in another thread that I wish the policy wonks at the levers of all this shit were actually clueless and stupid, but it is quite the opposite. The knowledge is through the roof, and far beyond the average person who actually otherwise pays close attention to politics. They know every damn corner and crevice to exploit.

Preach, brother.
When that was first discussed in threads here, so many of the Righty posters said shit like “looks like a normal campaign platform…”
That thing is not fucking normal. I’ve never seen anything like that in all the years I’ve followed US politics.

Yeah, wildly abnormal. The depth and scope of knowledge displayed for every executive department and their respective authority, directives, functions, offices, and programs (amongst other things) is absolutely bonkers. They were not fucking playing with that thing.
