This man delivered us from evil against all the weigh in warriors and physique queen types. People actually said the guy looked scared at the weigh ins against Lombard.

11 fights in 2 years, only loss to Demian Maia. Seemingly the injury replacement for every fight not named Cerrone. Not a power puncher, not a dynamic wrestler, not a freak athlete. Just a man with the heart and sheer perseverance to get the job done.

Talk about a guy getting the most out of his natural abilities. There is no quit in this dude and he seemingly gets it done on tenacity sheer will and desire. Was already a fan but last night showed me I will root for Neil against anyone barring Jesus.

This man deserves more love and our respect. All hail St. Magny!

He has the size and length to give many guys problems in that division. Last night, he also proved that he has a good chin and lots of heart to go with it. I think he can be a contender. He still looks like he is improving as well. Really, it was a great performance last night and one of the craziest turn arounds from one round to the next that I have seen. I'm a fan.

Agreed man. Seeing him son Hector damn near brought tears to my eyes. Not just because of the PEDs, but because Lombard just seems like a pretty bad jerk of a guy. The stories about him beating lesser fighters up in the gym is kind of sickening tbh.

I took great joy in him turning Hector's head into a bowl of smashed potatoes.

magny is my new mancrush. step aside, hunt.

Such a likeable character.

Always humble and easy going.

Heart of warrior.

It's about time this guy is getting recognition. He puts in some serious hard work and dedication that I feel a lot his peers just aren't.

Yes, and considering how the first round went it was even more satisfying. Lombard went from dominating and expecting a finish, to getting absolutely abused and his face pounded. I'm still amazed at Magny's composure. That is a true veteran fighter for you, and a guy who looks to be figuring it all out.

Magny has often made me root against him as I've found in the majority of his fights that I get rather bored of watching him.

I was however rooting for him over Hector due to the past stories of hector being a dick in the gym and because of his blatant PED abuse. So happy for him after this win

Great win for sure. But ww top five is a fucking meat grinder. So many tough fights.

I know I'm in the minority, but I actually loved him on TUF. Granted, he's an soldier so I may have shown a little bias. ;) I knew he likely wouldn't win, but he was gutsy, humble, and a sponge. How far he took that ability to absorb MMA knowledge so quickly is what is really impressive. He's learn to use the physical characteristics he benefits from and not allow others to exploit those he doesn't have. I love a story like his and the passion he seems to have for MMA rather than just he notoriety that may be gained from competing in it. I really enjoy watching someone who just feels he's a pretty regular guy excel on the big stage of any profession.

I thought his Thai clinch was pretty good and those knees probably contributed to gassing Lombard.

That was a crazy comeback.

Not sure it warrants the nut hugging though.

Whoa lol nobody brought anything gay into this until you said so lol. Agreed on sentence 2.
Well, debatable.

But yeah, Magney is trouble for anyone at WW. The dude doesn't quit.

Also makes my main man Maia more impressive by association.

Either Magney/Dong or Magney/Wood

Agreed Maia has been my favorite WW for a long time especially since GSP has been gone. Would love to see Neil vs DHK.

Well said, and completely agree .. last night's fight definitely made me a fan.

he's got 14 fights in 3 years in the UFC. I can see him making trouble for others in the division, especially with his length, heart and durability
