Television Squid Game Season 2

Yukon Territory. 7 months of winter every year. Just 7 hours of sunlight today. It’s dark when I go to work and dark when I come home.
Well there is an overlap in latitude between the very south of the Yukon Territory and the very north of the UK. But you can easily set off to work and return home in the dark in the UK, in fact you can set off to and return from school in the dark at least in the middle and north - not sure about the south.

Famously miners only see the Sun at the weekend part of the year. There used to be a lot of miners in the UK, although not now.

You can look up the day length at different latitudes, but I've found it a bit deceptive because the figures don't convey the quality of light really. Or the experience of twilight. Anyway the 'daylight' in Aberdeen in northern Britain is 6:42 today. But like I said, the light starts noticeably deteriorating at 1:30pm? Especially on a cloudy day, of which there are a lot.

Do they drink lots in the north?

We have the highest drug and alcohol consumption in Canada by far.

I like the darkness but you do tend to stay indoors more because of the dark cold nights. Nobody forced me to move here. People either love it or hate it. I love it.

Scotland is the worst in the UK for drugs and alcohol yes. Actually Scotland is the worst in Europe for drug deaths. Although how much that has to do with SAD I don't know. I also suspect that the high rates in the Yukon might be linked to the large amounts of natives.

I enjoy the long summer days and long winter nights, but I've never lived very far north, like if you have 60 days of 24 hour darkness that might be a bit much. In the UK anyway it doesn't get very cold, and there are plenty of things you can do in the hours of darkness.
