Well there is an overlap in latitude between the very south of the Yukon Territory and the very north of the UK. But you can easily set off to work and return home in the dark in the UK, in fact you can set off to and return from school in the dark at least in the middle and north - not sure about the south.
Famously miners only see the Sun at the weekend part of the year. There used to be a lot of miners in the UK, although not now.
You can look up the day length at different latitudes, but I've found it a bit deceptive because the figures don't convey the quality of light really. Or the experience of twilight. Anyway the 'daylight' in Aberdeen in northern Britain is 6:42 today. But like I said, the light starts noticeably deteriorating at 1:30pm? Especially on a cloudy day, of which there are a lot.
