Movies SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY (New Suit Revealed, post #117; Hulk and Scorpion to Appear, post #111)

I almost missed scorpion being the villain but somehow spideys new suit is more significant according to the thread title

No hes worst of 3 he just has better writing

No Way Home really put it in display his bad he is.

Not only was he was the worst actor of the 3 Spidermen, he was the worst actor in the entire movie, even behind Ned.

Bring on the Sinister Six. I'd be completely down if the new Spidey trilogy covered them, and maybe in the third movie it was revealed that Kingpin was in command. I don't know if Marvel has the rights to his character on film vs television, because Sony is ruining things on that front.

I suspect Scorpion here is just a throwaway villain similar to how Paul Giamatti's Rhino or Logan Marshall-Green/Bookem Woodbine's Shocker was used.

And Spidey's new suit is more significant because the studio just released a video to showcase the new suit and all the major media outlets are covering it and the CBM fan community are talking about it and dissecting every little detail.

Let's hope Sony will allow Marvel Studios to use the Sinister Six because Sony has been adamant in trying to make a Sinister Six movie since 2013.

Those Spidey spinoff movies Sony has been churning out for the past few years (Venom, Kraven, Morbius), they were all designed to converge for a future Sinister Six movie. In one of the worst post-credits scenes ever made, they even managed to transport Michael Keaton's Vulture into their Sony universe.

According to Vincent D'Onofrio in an April 2025 interview, Kingpin cannot show up in MCU movies because of rights issues with Sony. So unless Marvel and Sony make a deal, D'Onofrio's Kingpin is stuck in television.

Spider-Man: Brand New Days is currently filming in Glasgow, Scotland. Here are some set videos featuring some action scenes in the city.

A+ blue
A- symbol, but it’s growing on me

Holland is the lamest and most annoying spiderman. Bring back tobey or andrew.
This. 1000x this.

What happened to Spider Man 4 with Toby and Raimi (that was rumored to finally happen after the success of No Way Home)? It's a damn travesty if they end up not doing it.
<DisgustingHHH>

I think I prefer Toby. Andrew's head is too much like a gigantic Q-Tip. Tom falling in love with his MJ is too unbelievable and cringey.

Jon Watts advice for the next Spider-Man director back in 2024: “I have a very practical bit of Spider-Man advice, and I think every Spider-Man director goes through it. It doesn’t look good when someone is just swinging on a rope. You think you’re gonna go in there, you’re like, ‘We’re gonna do it all practical. We’re gonna get a stuntman. We’re gonna be swinging around.’ It’s boring. It looks dumb. It looks like a monkey swinging on a vine when you put someone on just a rope. Don’t waste your time. That’s my advice to the next Spider-Man director.”

I'm sure there will be a lot of CGI swinging but I'm glad Brand New Day director Destin Daniel Cretton took the challenge and filmed some practical swinging effects. I think it looked cool.

Ned has already been shown to have some magical potential, so maybe that's how he becomes Hobgoblin.

Hobgoblin in the comics is just a knock off Green Goblin. Something Norman Osborn never lets him forget.
