Stranger Things star Sadie Sink will join Tom Holland in the fourth Spider-Man film. Filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) is helming the movie that is currently untitled. Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna penned the screenplay.

The plot for the fourth Spider-Man is being kept under wraps, with the last film, No Way Home, ending with the world forgetting that teenager Peter Parker was Spider-Man, including MJ (Zendaya). It is unclear who Sink will play in the film.

Holland teased the fourth film last year during a stop on Good Morning America, saying, “The idea is crazy. It’s a little different to anything we’ve done before, but I think the fans are gonna really respond to it.”

Sony Pictures has set a theatrical release for July 31, 2026.

Holland was last seen onscreen as the heroic web-slinger in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, which surpassed $1.9 billion at the global box office. That film was helmed by Jon Watts, who also directed Holland in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019).

The news of Sink joining the MCU comes as she will soon wrap up her time on Netflix series Stranger Things. Up next for Sink is the Searchlight movie O’Dessa and the Broadway play John Proctor Is the Villain.

Ok, since everyone and their mother is going to go with either Jean Grey (most likely) or Mary Jane (delusional, it’s not happening guys!) I will throw my hat for the dark horse candidate and speculate that she will be playing Angelica Jones, a.k.a. Firerstar.

Because unlike some people, I can tell the difference between what I think will happen and what want to happen.

So who plays iceman?

Leaning Firestar or Mary Jane on the casting.

Firestar helps with trickling in the mutants as well.

I think they cast the biker guy from The Walking Dead as Knull
Knull is probably one of the worst major character created by Marvel in the last 50 years.
If you had to create a symbiote god, why would you make him a 10 foot tall Dracula with a sword? Its so corny I can't even.
If they introduce symbiote Spider Man they're going to have to retcon the story, aint nobody got time for a that story to evolve.
And Spider Man's symbiote = Venom, so that is another wrinkle they'd have to deal with.

Knull, the whole symbiote race/Klyntar shit, Venom’s spider being a messed up dragon design… it’s all stupid.

Shit, I don’t really read a lot of Marvel these days (because it’s mostly shit, I read some X-books because I’m stupid & stubborn and unfortunately they kinda suck) but:

Eddie Brock is Carnage right now?

Luke Cage, Madame Masque, Rick Jones, or some random dude are Venom?

Miles, Spider-Gwen, and probably any other Spider variant with an ounce of popularity are all running around the main universe now. Who knows about the Venomverse folks.

There’s a Kid Venom, Spider-Boy, Spider-Girl?

I mean, the comics have just gotten really obnoxious and desperate to try and create something for Marvel.

The bigger thing they have going seems to be Jeff the Land Shark and that’s because of the Marvel Rivals video game.

Sink is great. She really stole the show on that fourth season episode of Stranger Things. Will be interesting to see if the Jean Grey rumors are true or if she’s a different character.

I didn't know any of that stuff starting with Brock = Carnage and now I long to be the person i was before I found out

Could be alternate timeline MJ? Or Black Cat would be my guesses.

Oooh! Makes more sense, too, seeing as she's supposed to be in the X-Men.
If they don't go full Amazing Friends she could also be Siryn, but I think you may have nailed it.

how are they still going with this twink as spider man ?

She's not hot enough to play Jean Grey.

She could play Wolfsbane.
