Movies SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY (New Suit Revealed, post #117; Hulk and Scorpion to Appear, post #111)

Yeah maybe it was the nostalgia of the other Spider-Mans that made the movie enjoyable.

How can Tom Hollands Spider-Man still be so naive after like 10 movies. We are talking about a guy who faced Thanos with the avengers for Christ sakes. Surely he's had some personal growth through these movies
He's just graduating high school at the end of the last movie.
He has clearly grown though as a character, he just still does some dumb shit sometimes.

No Way Home was hilarious to me because it highlighted how he’s the worst Spiderman of them all.

Heck, he was the worst actor in the entire movie, including the supporting cast.
tbf, that supporting cast was pretty spectacular

Give her a chance at redemption after the Madame Web debacle. Sydney Sweeny for Black Cat. The time is now!
Good lord.

his naïveté shriveled up & has almost completely withered away by the halfway point of No Way Home. he’s still a teenager & got zapped out of existence for like five years, so it’s never felt too out of the ordinary

TBD on the validity of this report, but incorporating the symbiotes seems pretty likely.

Richard Brake for Knull?

edit: nvm, it’s probably Rhys Ifans.

Shang-Chi's story was average but the fights were the best in MCU. If Cretton brings in those guys from Jackie Chan Stunt Team again, Spider-Man 4's action's gonna be PEAK!

Disagree. For me, the GOAT MCU fight scenes were in Winter Soldier. The Shang-Chi stuff was too flowery for my taste.

I think they cast the biker guy from The Walking Dead as Knull
Knull is probably one of the worst major character created by Marvel in the last 50 years.
If you had to create a symbiote god, why would you make him a 10 foot tall Dracula with a sword? Its so corny I can't even.
If they introduce symbiote Spider Man they're going to have to retcon the story, aint nobody got time for a that story to evolve.
And Spider Man's symbiote = Venom, so that is another wrinkle they'd have to deal with.

I wonder how intentionally Marvel tried to duplicate Prince Nuada's awesomeness when developing Knull.

I mean... Shang-Chi is all about kung fu so it's supposed to be flowery. I'd be pissed if I watched Shang-Chi and all they did was boxing, likewise I'd be pissed if I watched Winter Soldier and they did taichi.

Winter Soldier ranks #2 for me in terms of fight action. Reason why I prefer SC is that WS relies way too much on quick cuts to give an illusion of intensity. Not that it doesn't work, because it does, but IMO it's just not as impressive. I also find the cinematography in SC to be better.

And then there's single-take shots like this which is icing on the cake.

It's a fair comment. Like most things regarding films, taste in fight scenes are subjective. I prefer the intensity of Winter Soldier's fight scenes. I enjoyed the various Arts being showcased: MMA/BJJ, Thai Boxing, Escrima etc. You prefer the, "purer" style of Kung Fu used in Shang Chi. Which makes sense, of course. One doesn't watch a Jackie Chan film to see Rocky-style Boxing matches.

Considering that Knull has been revealed as the villain in Venom 3, this report seems unlikely. I doubt they'd have the same villain twice. But, I suppose it could be a way to bring the Venom and Spider-Man franchises together.

knull seems like he might be a backseat villain in venom 3

SPIDER-MAN 4 Sets July 24, 2026 Release Date; Tom Holland to Begin Filming in 2025 and May Also Film a Role in Avengers: Doomsday

Spider-Man will be swinging back into theaters on July 24, 2026, Sony announced Friday. Tom Holland returns for the currently untitled Spider-Man 4, which has Destin Daniel Cretton set as director.

Holland last starred as Spider-Man in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, the multi-verse spanning film that generated $1.916 billion at the global box office despite challenges of the coronavirus pandemic. He previously headlined Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) and appeared in Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019).

Holland is expected to shoot the new Spider-Man next year, which will be a busy one for him. He also will flim Christopher Nolan’s next movie, and may film a role in Marvel Studios' Avengers: Doomsday.

No Way Home ended with the world forgetting that Peter Parker is Spider-Man, and in the process, even Peter’s closest friends have forgotten who he is. No Way Home writers Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna are the writers on the new Spidey movie.

Sony controls the film rights to the character, while Disney-owned Marvel Studios produces them with Sony via a landmark partnership that was struck in 2015 and allowed Spider-Man to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Holland will be everywhere the summer of 2026. One week before Spider-Man 4 opens, he will be on the big screen with Nolan’s movie from Universal, which bows July 17, 2026. And if he does indeed appear in Doomsday, that film opens on May 1, 2026.

Stranger Things Star Sadie Sink Joins Tom Holland in Marvel Studios' SPIDER-MAN 4

Stranger Things star Sadie Sink will join Tom Holland in the fourth Spider-Man film. Filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) is helming the movie that is currently untitled. Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna penned the screenplay.

The plot for the fourth Spider-Man is being kept under wraps, with the last film, No Way Home, ending with the world forgetting that teenager Peter Parker was Spider-Man, including MJ (Zendaya). It is unclear who Sink will play in the film.

Holland teased the fourth film last year during a stop on Good Morning America, saying, “The idea is crazy. It’s a little different to anything we’ve done before, but I think the fans are gonna really respond to it.”

Sony Pictures has set a theatrical release for July 31, 2026.

Holland was last seen onscreen as the heroic web-slinger in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, which surpassed $1.9 billion at the global box office. That film was helmed by Jon Watts, who also directed Holland in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019).

The news of Sink joining the MCU comes as she will soon wrap up her time on Netflix series Stranger Things. Up next for Sink is the Searchlight movie O’Dessa and the Broadway play John Proctor Is the Villain.
