I disagree. There was a vibe going into that fight where if anythng Weidman was almost the favorite.

Now that I've calmed down slightly I would put it below Serra-GSP but I'm not sure I can drop it below #2.

There was no fucking vibe about Weidman being the favorite, lots of people thought he could be the one but he was not near favorite in that fight and NO ONE in a million years thought Weidman would KTFO Anderson.

For reference this is a big upset but not a historic one. Likely not even top 20. It's also not even the biggest underdog match ON THIS CARD. Lansberg is a monster dog tonight. It's about on par with JDS over Werdum which was a +500-+600 bet that came in.
I remember that one specifically because 2+2 tipped me off on it and basically half the gambling internet crushed it.
+400s (the low end of this odds range) are fairly common. Shogun/Machida I, Shogun was a +400 underdog. He didn't win that one (should have) but that's about the range here. CM Punk was in the +400 range, which was hilariously undervaluing Mickey Gall. Lots of us cashed big bets on that one too.

And I know you specified UFC only but in PRIDE during the era of freakshow fights, +1000 odds were not uncommon.

Also a fun piece of MMA betting trivia, the biggest underdog in major MMA is Sokoudjou vs. Lil Nog. And that one is funny because the underdog won! You could have got +2300 at the very top of the range. A guy who used to post in the betting threads on Sherdog cashed a big ticket on that at +1600 IIRC because he worked out with him and wanted to make his night exciting. IIRC he put a down payment on a sports car with that one.

Not biggest upset, IMO biggest upset was Anderson Silva getting knocked out considering he was the best in alot of people's eyes at the time.

Silva was the best in the UFC at the time and GTFO if you dont care for my opinion because it's the only one that matters. Silva was an actually finisher unlinke GSP who couldn't finish a happy meal and would bump and grind his way to a decision 3/4's of the time.
