In the Jones/OSP fight I believe I witnessed the most boring fighting style I've ever seen. Worse than lay and pray, worse than wall and stall. This was the single worst title fight I've ever seen. I don't care if no one's ever had a knee blow out yet, they need to change the rules to ban the knee kicks, because this brings boring fights to a new level.

Jones actually made Mighty Mouse look exciting, and that's saying something.

People have been doing this for years,if you are a top level fighter find a way to counter it /thread...

Yeah I think they are bad for the sport. Even if Rampage is the only one who has had significant injury from them, they stall the action which is very bad for the sports future.

Other sports change rules to make things more exciting for fans, so should mma.

I'm more of a purist, i'd rather they stay. We should be adding techniques, not taking them away.

You're an idiot if you thought that was the most borring title fight. that wasnt even the most borring jones title fight.

The technique is no worse than a heel hook or knee bar. We have seen what those can do in a matter of seconds. The technique is effective and needs to be analyzed and countered, like anything else. This is a sport where we encouraged people to break bones and knock people unconscious. Submissions and strikes to the head and eyes have caused way more long term damage.

Personally, I don't like watching it, either. I'm not a fan of the way Jones fights to hurt people in the nastiest ways. But these kicks are at least a legitimate technique. Much better than him shoving his fingers into peoples eyes the entire fight.

yeah, definitely boring but what can anyone do but learn to defend em.

I really feel this way as well...

I don't like the technique, but I'm also totally down with soccer kicks, stomps, 12-6 elbows and so on - there's no reason to take it away, people need to learn to defend it, nullify it, and then we won't see it so much.

It's a fight ffs. Stop being a pussy.

Jones fight was more entertaining than Esparzas, so no

So many other moves do just as much damage. Kneebars, heel hooks, kimuras, etc. Would you like those to be banned too? Definitely not the most boring title fight either, go watch GSP or Silva-Leites.

They are not gonna ban a technique because Jones has your jimmies rustled.

I thought it, you posted it!

Could say the same thing about how GSP used the jab, doesnt mean they should or would ban it

should we eliminate grappling too, because it stalls fights in many fans eyes?

I personally don't like the technique but I don't complain about it. I really don't like when people say "spamming'" like they're in a video game. There's nothing wrong with using something over and over again if it keeps working.

Jones didn't make Mighty Mouse exciting, Mighty Mouse made Mighty Mouse exciting.

This. How can people still call Mighty Mouse boring after he TKO'd Cejudo in the first round with knees to the body?

Shit was spectacular.
