My brother got into that. He claimed that you don't need a license to drive because we own the roads. I explained to him that we all own the roads and have, via our elected representatives, set up rules to follow to make it possible to use them safely. Requiring a license assures that everyone driving on the roads knows and follows the rules. It didn't work for him either.

I guess I'm going to have to do some more reading on Sovereign Citizens because I get easily confused by them, the Bundys and Freemen.

I just lump them into the general constitutional-ists who cherry pick stuff where conveniently they are fine with taking all of the benefits of a modern society but conveniently choose not to abide by laws they don't like or pay taxes.

I love how they cite maritime law whilst driving on tax payer funded roads. In Canada, they refer to themselves as de-taxers, claiming that the person John Doe is different from the corporation John Doe, and that social insurance numbers are really secret bank accounts that the government creates at birth for everybody. Personally, I believe every law enforcement officer should be allowed to slap one person once a day, without fear of repercussion. No take backs, no saving it for a rainy day. I think that might help reduce the number of these idiots quite a bit.

The stupid thing is, all he had to say, US citizen and drive off. I mean it takes 3 seconds, but no he has to be a dumb ass. He wasted a bunch of time and could have been freely driving in seconds but instead he went to jail.

That judge was ready for his dumb ass. He set him up real good. I love how toward the end the Sov cit says that the judge is trying to confuse him when the judge is actually using the confusing bullshit terms he created.
