Seriously.

Miocic - champ.
Cain - former champ.
Overeem - former Strikeforce champ; real shot at becoming champion next fight.
JDS - former champ.
Ben Rothwell - has beaten Overeem, may well get a shot and beat him again if he gets the title.
Arlovski - former champ.
Travis Browne - a little further than most, but wouldn't be crazy.
Mark Hunt - competitive against Werdum, not so much against Miocic. Given the right matchup (Reem?), could get the title.
Barnett - former champ.
Mir - former champ.

Roy Nelson is probably the only one that will never be able to get the title. He just loses against any top 10 fighter.

Even Struve holds a legit, non-flukish win over Miocic. Who knows?
 
I don't think either Rothwell or Browne will ever hold the belt, but yeah, I get your point and that's really curious.
 
They are the only ones who are a bit far from it.

But seriously, it's impossible to hype anyone, the division is too inconsistent.
 
Belt changes a lot at HW. Take a pretty unique fighter to hold dominance over the division for any length of time.

i dont see Rothwell or Brown ever getting it. Overeem will get it in a few.

But yeah its funny. The division is just awesome.
 
Move up to heavyweight, the title has had more hands on it than a door knob.
 
Considering only defenses, Fedor only had 4 (great for HW, not so much considering other divisions).

But then it was the way Pride was structured. Wanderlei defended the MW belt only three times too.

To be fair Fedor was beaten by Werdum, so he'd be in the same boat as all these guys right now if fighting in the UFC.
 
I hate to say it, but I think Overeem may be the new HW champ.
 
This just shows how impossible is to keep on winning in HW like Fedor did. Much harder than in LHW and down.

Yeh mmath, if you lose even one fight you're bad. I think if a modern HW were to go 3/4/5 years undefeated he'd be consider the goat HW now. Never mind 10.
 
At least we're finally getting fresh matches at HW

Parity is one thing, but parity + rematches was killing me

Anybody in the top 10 could win a title fight. Rothwell and Browne are just much less likely to get one because they have no fans.
