Sonnen: Conor "blinked" 1st and "begged" during negotiations

Listening now
Chael said a lot of positive things about Conor (before others say he hates him or a shill).
He just said what most do on here, that UFC will move forward like they did without Tito & Tito agreed.

Conor had an interesting quote:
"Conor is like a car salesman that sells more cars than any other salesman in a month & thinks that makes him an owner"

If anybody listens to it, they will hear that there were no attacks on Conor. Just discussion that he was off on this one!

Probably Chuck. Tito was 'ducking' him for a while towards the end of his reign, and Dana was closer to Chuck, so he probably got more love ($) from Zuffa after the changeover. But to your point, yeah for his day Tito was getting paid compared to most UFC fighters for sure.

So Conor is just following Tito's footsteps. Rustle a few jimmies, get paid, then duck competition that would murk him & destroy his brand & leverage with management.

No, Conor is not ducking competition. He is literally jumping right back in there with the guy who just destroyed him.

Tito Ortiz was on the Chael Sonnen podcast. They discussed McGregor's mistakes made in the public negotiations with Zuffa.

- Chael says Conor demanded too much - then Conor did not stand his ground once his demands were set. Saying McGregor "blinked" and started begging Zuffa on Twitter for a fight! (segment starts about 21-minute cue poiint)

- They also discussed Tito paving the way for guys like Chael who paved the way for guys like Conor who took the heel/trash-talk persona to new heights.

Yeah, Chael is a fan of Conor, but he is also a company man for Zuffa.

Also his analogy is garbage, because car salesmen are common-law employees of the car dealership; fighters are not, they are independent contractors, their own bosses, having to look out for themselves, not employees of the UFC.

When The UFC officially pulled him off the card.

Like one of those "hold me back brah". When he knows damn well the fight is off. Good way to save the Conor brand. Smart move by Zuffa.

The fight's not off. Nate pulled himself off 200, he's sticking with Conor. He knows where the money is.

Lol Chael's is great. I remember on his earlier podcasts he did an advert selling razors. And he said his father tried these shavers and approved. But his father is dead lol. So how could he have tried them. :D I love Chael. Funny as fuck.

His lies like about Nog thinking a bus was a horse and feeding it a carrot :D Baaahaaaahaaa

Yeah, Chael is a fan of Conor, but he is also a company man for Zuffa.

As a regular listening, Conor disagrees with Zuffa a lot.
But that doesn't stop people from insisting he is a shill (not saying you).

I am by no means a Tito fan, but was there anyone in the UFC paid higher than him when he was the champ?
Which one is still having to fight to make money and which one is retired and working an easier job?

I get what you're saying, and I like Chael, but he takes 'company man' to a different level. He has a black belt in brown-nosing.

Watch this video, & feel the cringe.

Lol.

Cracked Skull & Company Man Chael, teaming up to discuss what a bad businessman the fighter is who made 10 times more money than they did in the UFC, in half the time.

This should be good.
He made a whole country start watching UFC. If he didn't have the Irish thing going for him, no doubt that he wouldn't have the same success.

no offense but it is a very small and insignificant country. its population is only 4M, add 1.5 with northern ireland. its not much, since many irish people still don't give a shit about MMA. the whole of ireland's population is less than the town I live in.
there are more people in Dalla's or Philadelphia's urban area than in the whole of ireland. ok you could add irish americans but still it isn't that much.
irland's GDP is about the same of Connecticut's, and that's with a lot of european subsidies & help

Between them and the American Irish population who don't give a shit about mma otherwise It's enough to significantly affect ppv buys. Why do you think as soon as they planned to expand to Ireland they signed him.

Not saying he would have shitty buyrates otherwise but being an successful Irish fighter who can also talk and has an exciting style is just all the pieces coming together for making a star. Being Irish is a huge part of that because it's something we really haven't seen in the UFC.

I would never say it is 'insignificant', but some people forget how a lot of countries are equal to a state in the USA.

Absolutely, any time you tap into a market that has yet to have theor "MMA hero" to follow, it makes sense & Conor killed it.

Tito had some sage words. You don't go to war with UFC over something so silly especially with you're Dana's boy given almost everything you ask for like Tito was and Conor is. I'd just add you do have conflict you don't do it publicly through twitter but man to man on the phone and work it out.
