Something definitely was up with Shogun

He has 2 blown knees, a fucked up arm, a bit of brain damage from all the wars he's been in, and he's about 25 lbs of lean mass underweight for 205. All those things considered, he's actually performing very well. But a guy with all those issues really shouldn't be fighting 230 lb ripped completely physically and mentally healthy guys.

Shogun v BJ at 155 would be FOTY

well he should be entering the cage in better physical condition. there's no reason to look like that as a fighter when it's not an asset for his style.

I like the refs in MMA, actually care about the fighters. While in boxing, they're told not to touch the fighters.
Here you see the ref attempt to catch the unconscious fighter while a boxing ref would have let him fall
Not all refs in mma... just very few good ones and only one GOD

Plain and simple, the 2005 Pride Grand Prix was Shogun's peak. Ever since that run he has declined in his ability physically.

GSP hired a man to kiss Shogun on the walk out

and then got the Canadian athletic commission to poison him

and then Smith caught him with that lucky front kick

Shogun will be champ by the end of 2019

Father Time waits on no man... Just sucks that it ruined a Super Fight with Cormier.

I will say that he looked tired and not entirely with it on the walkout and in the cage, maybe he didn't adjust to the jetlag of having to go fight in europe? His last 3 fights prior to this were all in Brazil so its possible he made a mistake and didn't get to Germany early enough to adjust to the time change and adjust his training to be fight-ready the time of day the fight was happening.

Pretty sure that he siphoned energy from his future self when he was in Pride. Now, the checks are coming due.

Even after 25 years, you still cannot understand how an MMA/NHB fighter cannot perform as he once did at age 25 eh.

That's probably denial. Its understandable, to a point. he didn't even look very good in his wins. Accept the fact he isn't the 2005 GP fighter anymore and you will be more at peace within yourself.
