Crime Someone tried to assassinate Donald Trump at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania

Can anyone who knows about rifles tell if his gun had a scope on it? Some people said he never used a scope, but I couldn't find that reported anywhere in the media. Looks like it does have one to me.
Video footage shows the rifle did not have a scope or a red dot sight (two different things). A scope magnifies the target. A red dot only marks the target. Regardless, the gun has to be zeroed for the shooter. The rifle was zeroed for the shooter's father.
I saw one video where a SEAL sniper claimed that to him, the rifle did not seem to have a scope.
I never saw it reported that it had no scope. One of the gun-focused YouTube channels that dismissed the conspiracies about the whole incident being staged to make Trump popular mentioned he used a red dot optical with no magnification. That was posted in this thread. The video mocked the notion that anyone would trust even the greatest shooters in the world to just "graze the ear" on purpose with his gun and setup from that distance. It truly was an absurd CT.
Red dot sights have their pros-and-cons. Specially at the distance the shooter was using it. Now I'm reading that 8 cartridges were retrieved from the site location next to the shooter. This would debunk any 'second shooter' theory since only 8 shots were fired.

We had no 'red dot' sights when I was in the Army. It was either a scope or iron sights. Most soldiers shot and qualified with iron sights. Unless you have poor eyesight, you can easily hit a target with iron sights up to 200 yards. 1 yard (36 inches) and 1 meter (39 inches) are almost the same. Qualification for stationary targets was 50, 100, 150, 200, 250 and 300 meters. We had a separate range for moving targets. All this was done with the M-16A2. Trump was shot at about 120 meters. If this was to work, Trump should have been killed by the first shot. Had Crooks used the water tower instead of the roof, he would have had better results - plus, remained hidden.

Except it apparently does represent a huge number of lefties. 30% admitted they wish he hadn't missed, and another 1/3 think it was staged.

Ok?

nullification is a motherfucker.

the right has been nullified just like those two cans @Jack V Savage and @Darkballs where no matter what they say they can never be taken seriously.

in the case of right wing media, they got nullified not for the contents of their messaging but because of leftist political warfare and propaganda (ie. the right is evil, dumb, or crazy and you can never take them seriously!).

in the case of those two cans, they deserved because they pushed lies.

so things like viewership and numbers don't matter if your voice means nothing.

Can we ban this weirdo again yet?

How mad would you say this guy FBI agent was aftwr he found out that he missed?

If you inside wants to push the Trump shooter nut job over to the left for us to take responsibility for then we expect you to bring the same energy to:

Patrick cruisius, 2019, 22 killed/24 injured.

Ryan Christopher Palmeter, 3 killed/0 wounded at thr dollar store,

Mauricio Martinez Garcia, 9 killed/10 wounded at an outlet mall,

Payton S. Gendron 3k/10w supermarket,

Steven Carrillo 3/2 federal courthouse,

John Earnest, 3/1 at a synagogue,

I could go on, (and on and on. Seriously. 131 people killed by SELF PROFESSED right wing extremists, and even more wounded in the last 20 years. Big ramp up starting around 2016 for some reason.)

So again, maybe both sides can tone down the rhetoric and stop celebrating when some nut job kills people in the name of the other team.

Lol, what "energy" would that be? Do you have some polling that suggests 1/3 of republicans agree with "I wish he killed more", like I just showed you for lefties?

131 over 20 years comes out to 6.5/year and there were nearly 22,000 homicides just last year, and you bring some crap with "oh yeah, well here's a Mexican neo nazi and some anti semitic dude who shot someone at a synagogue 5 years ago". What on earth does that have to do with some psycho trying to assassinate the leading presidential candidate because the polls weren't going his way, and 1/3 of lefties wishing he'd succeeded?

Looks to have a small red-dot on it.. no scope. It also has a fairly long barrel, hard to see how he could easily conceal that, even if he did break it down and reassemble it.

Great question. I apologize for giving you too many facts, points, information, and frankly- credit to make sense of those things.

You see, far More right wingers have committed murder, and other acts of violence then lefties. So, I find it a bit surprising Right wingers want to play the blame game instead of deciding that anyone willing to murder for a political party no longer represent that political party.

Does that make sense? I can run it through a ChatGPT And have it come up with the same sentiment but using smaller, easier to understand words.

131 in 20 years? Isn't that about the same amount democrats kill on any given weekend in Chicago?

Lol, you didn't give any facts, you clown, you just tried to deflect by posting weird irrelevant crap. I showed you polling that shows 1/3 of left wingers wish the assassination attempt was successful, and for some bizarre reason your response was "oh yeah, well here's 6 guys in the last 20 years who shot strangers". What the fuck does that have to do with tens of millions of people supporting political assassinations because their candidate is losing?

"More right wingers have committed murder and acts of violence than lefties" is just moronic. We already know which demographic group commits the majority of the murders, and it's the most loyal demographic group to the democrat party in the country for like 80 years. You listed like half a dozen people over the last 2 decades out of probably 300,000 murders in that time. That's like a random Tuesday afternoon in Baltimore, Chicago or St. Louis. Are you drunk?

Looks like a red dot sight to me. But it’s blurry due to pinch to zoom.

Typically no magnification on them.

Hey again friend,

Reading all of that I realize I should’ve gone with my gut instinct and ran it through the ChatGPT after all. You seem pretty worked up and I’m sorry for my part in that. Although we all have to take personal responsibility for our feelings I think it’s important to understand when our words or actions can upset somebody, even on accident or even because they got very confused and jumped on anger train and rode it all the way to twisted undies Boulevard.

As absolutely simply as I can lay it out-

1. Some crazy guy took a shot at Donald Trump.

2. The right wing want to blame it on his political beliefs.

3. The right wing does not want to be held to that same standard when people use their talking points as reasons to kill people.

I threw a couple five cent words at you there so if you still don’t grasp what feels to me to be a pretty simple idea I can try to dumb it down further. Again, I want to be mindful of what appears to be a we bit of a learning disorder. After getting on another poster for using the word as a slur I’m trying to be more sensitive when dealing with folks from that community even if it is on a karate forum.

Cool, so you're retarded and can't read? Thanks.

It did slightly annoy me how so many just assumed he was a right winger because he was a registered republican but they just ignore the fact he donated money to a left wing organisation.
It was always far more likely a lefty would register as a republican to vote in the primaries than it would be for a right winger to just give away money to a lefty organisation.
At 20 it doesn't matter.
And also how did he donate?
Was it some person with a clipboard on a corner badgering him saying "Don't you care about child rights?" And he said "Yea" and just gave them $15 and scurried off?
Him registering, how do you even do that?
No idea.
Never voted and I'm in my 30s.
