Crime Someone tried to assassinate Donald Trump at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania

The building wasn’t swept, the sniper had the scope on the shooter for over two minutes and didn’t receive the green light, Trump wasn’t removed from the stage when they couldn’t identify who was on the roof, shooter was in a Black Rock commercial ect…

You mean to tell me that you believe that this is just a Secret Service screw up? The SS has a system of sweeping buildings, they’re not missing one that’s only 130 yards away.
So what are you suggesting?

Lmao the dance is like his limit break. This is awesome

It is amazing. Saw it yesterday, and sent it to a number of friends. Even the lefty friends, who like anime and actually played final fantasy (limit break is perfect reference lmao), thought it was great.

Little known fact, FFVI was actually the first to have limit breaks, though they weren't called that. Back in the day we called them "desperation attacks" which... is admittedly not as catchy.

To this day it's still my favorite though I love FFVII and understand why it's the favored child amongst many

To be fair to Jack Black, his partner Kyle made the joke.

After which, Jack publicly condemned the comment, cancelled the rest of the tour, and stated the band was on indefinite hiatus.

Kyle Glasses talent agent has also dropped him.
Agreed. Not defending Disney at all but you are right.

Road crews and the folks who own the production companies for live music are predominantly conservative. I'd imagine someone from the tour's production conpany mighta promised a sibilance-filled, feedback-rich, mid-popping, cutting-in-and-out-filled audio experience for the rest of the tour if it continued. They might not have had the viable option to even continue. Without outing anyone ever at all, will update this post if I find out any inside info.

I know nothing about the production and personnel involved in supporting a tour like this. I hate that folks expecting to be paid for the job probably won't be, but I guess that depends on the contract.

Okay I'm going to concede this totally and I'm going to go back and edit some of the stuff I set out so that other people don't think it's true or accurate.

but now I want you to tell me exactly what your motives were for saying it and what your reasoning is for Trump doing it.

Personally, I cannot think of any motive that doesn't make him a worse person than he really is.

@mkess101 I think I edited out everything that was inaccurate. If I missed something let me know man.

My motive for saying it was that IF we all of a sudden got a "warmer, fuzzier" Trump or whatever (because that was the gist of the topic I was replying to)...people may well wonder why. I don't see it as likely that he softens, but if he did--you don't think people would be looking for explanations why? Mine was one possibility, and nothing more. Not a commentary on if that makes him better, worse, or the same in terms of "who he actually is".

There's a danger in ascribing motives to people who haven't really gotten into that aspect of a discussion. I'm not saying I've never done it, so I don't want to go apeshit on you about it. It happens, but it's not a great look.

So what are you suggesting?
I don't think anyone should be suggesting anything nefarious.

I sometimes do internal auditing for my company as a prep for possible external ones. In finance the phrase is "trust but verify". The goal is to try to help the department or company by ruling out anything that could conceivably be perceived as foul play.

I think that's how people should be approaching this. The reason I think nobody should be talking about a hit job is because this is a colossal fuck-up of such magnitude that it's inherently on everyone's mind. Everyone is thinking it. People on the right are suspecting it. People on the left are defensive about it. I don't think anybody should be talking about it. I think what we should be doing is having a complete, exhaustive investigation.

Because while I truly believe this wasn't a conspiracy against Trump, nobody can blame anyone for thinking that it was. An "audit" actually does everyone a favor by proving that it was severe, gross negligence.

I think that's more a function of the fact the right wing guys here are just a lot better behaved than the left wing guys. So despite the obvious left bias, the lefties still constantly manage to get themselves banned for endorsing and encouraging political violence etc.

Any person that would speak the way Trump does in order to pander to a base is a disgusting, useless human being. I would actually have less respect if that turned out to be the truth, but there is no chance of it.
I dont believe Trump was ever a conservative but he DID enact conservative policy when he got the chance. I think his goal is to be popular and that means picking a side for the most part. His numbers indicate that enough people think he did well enough during his time so he will likely stick to the same strategy as before. I doubt he will make a 180 and begin enacting liberal policy.

Hey man, that's why I made all those corrections okay, that's pretty sincere nobody does that...

But you still haven't answered my question. If he's just pandering to his base, why? What would the motivation be? I can't even see how you came to that statement unless you thought about his motives. So what are the motives for something like that??

What would motivate a person who's not hateful and divisive and disgustingly degraded to act that way in public for personal gain??

What kind of person would do such a thing? And would you think that made him worse or better than the Trump I present which is that he's just actually showing us his real face?

And we just had two lefties banned. Imo because this is the internet, guys tend to go off the rails and end up getting busted. But that to me is the way of an internet forum. Almost like twitter where few actually speak the same way in real life like they do in there. Almost like pretend imo.

I think part of the issue people are talking about is you can't "get the respect you give" if a great deal of people are succumbing to immense political hyperbole. Even you're saying Trump is racist. It's bullshit. What happened is you've been fed some out of context quotes and you make a conclusion that isnt supported by reality.

It's the same thing as the gallup poll where Dems though 50% of the people who got Covid were hospitalized. This is so far removed from reality that it's mind boggling so many people think it. Another classic example is the whole issue of black people shot by Police. Ask almost any democrat how many unarmed black people are shot by the police very year and the answer is gonna be either hundreds or thousands, not the correct answer which is about 12.

These are just two examples, but they show how a lot of people can have opinions on facts that are so far divorced from reality that they can potentially take a drastic reaction to something. I dont mean the assassination attempt, I just mean in general. Its how you get people to think you should defund the police, or put non vaccinated people into camps. Yes, these are extreme positions that I dont attribute to everyone on the left. However, I do attribute them to a much higher percentage of the left than it should be given how utterly batshit crazy the positions are.

Before you say "But the right", yeah I know it happens on the right too. Like people who think millions of kids are getting getting trans surgery, when its a much, much lower number. Currently the more batshit insane positions are the left, though.

Jesus, people literally are arguing Trump would end democracy. It's fucking stupid. Yes, he tried to overturn the election.....through a legal means of court trials all of which he lost. People act he almost did it or something. No, he never came close and all of his attempts were laughably ineffective. That means the system is working. Trump can cry about all the shit he wants, it doesnt mean hes gonna beat an entire political/judicial system. Except in your mind. For some reason.

You're wasting your time with that guy . . .

You just described how every gun owner feels after a high-profile gun crime is committed.
Of course.
The difference is, I’m willing to take actions to try and prevent this from happening again, whereas gun owners routinely are not after mass shooting events.

How would it be if we just said, “thoughts and prayers, everybody!”—and then didn’t review secret service failures, didn’t issue new regulations or protocols, didn’t pass new laws…

That is what gun owners do after high profile gun crimes, habitually.

Yep, the little disclaimer on the bottom right was put in for them during the BLM nonsense. We lost 2 of them in this very thread.
