203 strikes vs 36 is a pretty sound whooping. If you outland your opponent 6 to 1, chances are youve done more damage, whether or not it is as noticable...

Sure but there are different kinds of damage. Some people show superficial facial damage more than others. Fedor, GSP for instance. In pride "damage" was more about who came closest to doing something to end the fight.

Here's an example of both superficial damage and doing more to end the fight yet the other guy still won a decision:
