Look at Khabib Nurmagomedov huge for the weightclass, has trouble making weight but still appears slightly flabby.

Is it a genetic thing? He should be ripped with a 6 pack but he never is

Some people are leaner than others, good observation.

Thats not a problem for anyone on sherdog. We all eat junk food and stay ripped bros

Khabib is no Sherbro.

Being ripped is more aesthetics that it is performance. Some people have thicker skin, more fat and so on.

Confusing ripped with healthy is a problem though.

Josh Barnett also had problems getting ripped.

Not sure if he ever wanted to be ripped though.

If he would eat the same thing everday he would be

Genetics plays a huge role, but diet is paramount.

Virtually anyone can get ripped, but most people would never make the necessary dietary sacrifices to get there.

Everyone can be ripped but it changes for everyone. What way you should be training and eating for your body type (ecto, meso or endo) is a very big part of it

I'm not so sure. In the past I lost 80 pounds and my body type just didn't allow me to get ripped. I've even had times where I tried to lose water weight.. tried everything, just didn't work

Everyone can get ripped. We don't all have the same genetics to show a sixpack though. But a sixpack is not the definition of being ripped. Even though it's probably the best overal visual tell.

It's not the goal of most fighters. Most boxers aren't ripped either. They focus on cardio, sparring and speed training. It's not much different with mma fighters.

You can tell Khabib is as solid as a rock without being shredded. Many mma fighters have had that body. Khabib's head looks as hard as stone too. If his chin is the same the LW division may have a bigger problem than McGregor on their hands.

It's hard, especially when you're older. You have to have a very low BF% just to get started for most and then you have to do a ridiculous amount of high rep excercises in all areas pretty much all day every day while maintaining a high protein diet and not putting on water. I have only been successful at this as a teenager.

I actually hate looking ripped. I naturally have a low body fat% does not take much for me to get ripped but it takes effort to be fit and not have a disguesting crack fiend looking body.

An 8-pack is genetic like a clipped chin. Same thing for even abs and staggered abs, so I'd imagine the same could be true for visible abs in general.
