Some of your favorite Forensic Files/48 Hours Mystery episodes?

I'm a bit of a true-story crime junky. Any episodes of either of these shows you think are really good?

I'm not a huge fan of Forensic Files.

They condense everything into 22 minutes and remove the smaller details that make true crime a fun genre.

Never saw 48 Hours.

nothing tops the ICEMAN, Richard Kuklinksi for me.. Savage Hitman for the mob. Dissolved bodies in Acid. Chopped them up in bags,dumpsters.

Whenever Det. Joe Schillaci was on the case was the best.

Medical Detectives/Forensic Files is awesome, used to watch it before falling asleep lol. I think the production was pretty spooky and all the shit being real life made it all the more creepy.

I remember an episode called X Marks the Spot - a short explanation, it's about some dude killing prostitutes, he actually took them home and torturing them in his basement, they actually find some video tapes in his home (some mild portions you can find on the internet and on some other documentaries). They found him through some specific map that he downloaded from the internet which he printed and sent to fuck with the investigation. Turned out it was downloaded just from his IP address. Fascinating stuff.

There are many other great episodes as well, but this one came to my mind.

Son hits dad in head with axe 16 times to collect life insurance. Portion of dad's brain controlling deeper thought is heavily damaged, but he still wakes up in morning in a zombie like stupor and starts going about his day as usual, following more primitive learned pattern behavior. Gets dressed and goes outside to get the newspaper before collapsing dead back inside the housr.
