I like your subject matter, reminds me of the sort of photos I take.

Shallow depth of field isn't always the right choice. It's great to get rid of a busy background, but rarely are blurry clouds enjoyable to look at. Most of your photos would look better if you stopped down to sharpen the background.

It's a matter of preference though. I like the blurry clouds. It provides a sort of "painterly" background to the foreground image which is intended to be the subject without being distracting. If the clouds are focused, to me, it's not clear what the subject is in shots like this.

Now, landscape is a different story. There it's better that everything be in focus because the subject is the entire scene, not a part of it.
