Early Weigh ins were made to give fighters more time to rehydrate before the fight decreasing the long term impact of damage taken during a fight.

The problem is people are missing weight more so now because it's harder to cut weight in the morning. It was easier to cut weight when they had nearly the whole day to do so.

The solution is to move the weigh ins to thursday evening which gives fighters the whole day to cut weight and even more time to rehydrate.

this should solve the entire problem.

then more fighters will try to cut even more weight, since they would have more time to rehydrate.

let's just move it back to 24 hours before the event.

Just makes me realize how ridiculous it is that both fighters are cutting water weight and having to rehydrate.

Imagine how much nicer it all would be if they could stop doing that.

Not sure how far along the ideas of preventing low hydration levels are, but it sounds like a good idea in theory (unless it's too difficult to accurately measure it)

They should move them to 8 weeks before the fight. That way people can get a full cycle in before fight night for optimal weight advantage

I would assume that more are missing weight because they are trying to cut more weight now, anticipating the longer recovery time.

Let them weigh in at age 6 so we can have 300 lbs flyweights in there.

Fuck it it's human cockfighting anyway.

That article title is kinda funny,

They abolished it in One FC not in MMA where it is obviously much more complex not to mention they have drastically less fighters to manage than a UFC.

Also, most of those guys are asians who are tiny anyway, like they have weight to cut?

The average Sherbro would need to hack off at least 3 limbs to make 265.

These are dumb excuses. Fighters dont stay in the same weight class once the hydration rules take effect. These rules force fighters to fight in their natural weight class, which is how it should be.
