So why exactly did Mighty Mouse Johnson duck TJ Dillashaw?

Listen, Ron Berg is a tough test for everyone. Mighty Mouse ain't ducking. He's so small anyways why would he duck ever?

Yeah, the court of public opinion is fucking retarded, especially post-TUF and now the McGregor era. I'm sure bieber will agree with them.
I honestly don't mind McGregor at all, I enjoy his fights. But I'm over all the BS money fights and guys who win a belt and instead of defending just switch weight classes so they can say they are a 2 division champion. I respect guys who have title defenses more than the guys who go for 2 belts without a single defense.

Now we have DJ vs Ray Borg as the main event of an event that will cost you a cool $59.99.

Thoughts?
UFC told him he would fight Borg; he agreed.

UFC changed mind and told him he would fight TJ. He said he was worried TJ would miss weight and he wouldn't be able to break title defense record and would be at a large weight disadvantage. Wanted assurance that if TJ missed weight, the fight would be off and he'd receive TJ's fight purse and his own.

UFC refused, and said he'd have to fight Borg as a replacement if TJ missed weight. He said that would put him at a disadvantage against Borg because his training camp would have been tailored to a different fighter. He wanted a guarantee of who he would be fighting in advance for training purposes.

UFC refused to meet those terms, and Dana threatened to close the flyweight division if DJ didn't fight TJ under their terms. He refused.

UFC finally gave him the Borg fight.

Pretty much this but people will twist the narrative to say what they want.

I think you left out the part where he said he'd rather fight Pettis or Moreno (?) instead of Borg initially but everything else sounds right.

Not to mention wtf gives him the right to get an immediate title shot at 155? Oh yeah ... because he matches up great against alvarez and Dana jizzed in his pants as soon as he learned that it was a potential fight.

He probably had the same hunch the rest of us had. TJ wasn't going to stay at 125, he just wanted a belt. Which he would immediately vacate if he won to go back up and fight Garbrandt(Which was just confirmed for oct 7 if i'm not mistaken). And then the ufc probably would have dissolved the division. I think he was pretty smart to tell them to fuck themselves for trying to strong arm him into a obviously terrible situation against a contender who rightfully had no claim to a shot in the division, and had never made weight there before. That fact aside, I personally thought MM had the tools to beat a drained TJ.

I don't see anyway TJ beats MM. MM is too quick, especially against a sucked out TJ. He's better than him literally everywhere. His striking is better, his MMA wrestling is better, his BJJ is definitely better, and he gasses people out.

No path to victory for TJ there.

Now Cody vs MM? That's a much better fight.

TJ said he would guarantee to make weight and that it wasn't a problem. The weight issue is a really bad excuse, particularly considering Borg has missed weight before.

Also, he said other ridiculous things, like mentioning Dodson beat TJ way back, so he didn't feel inspired by the challenge.

You're actually doing that by selectively ignoring some of the ridiculous stuff DJ brought up in support of his case.

TJ is lightning quick. Did you see what he did to Lineker and how fucking fast he was?

This is a very dangerous fight for MM.

Mighty Mouse wants to become the first person to headline a PPV to fail to do 100,000 buys since 2005. He's been knocking at that door for a while (he's done 115,000 buys twice). The UFC should renegotiate his contract to pay him less money. If he rebuffs, they should move the entire men's flyweight division to Invicta. The type of people that enjoy watching WMMA would likely enjoy watching miniature men, too.

Dana's going to make a point with putting him on a PPV.

He won't promote it and will probably be the worst selling PPV in UFC history and then Dana will say Told you so

Personal disputes like that are the things that make a company fold

MM's striking is not better than TJ's
At all

I see your point however Conor is instant excitement whereas mm is boring / and or generally regarded as boring
