So Whom Ducked Whomst?

your funny
who tf ducks a guy whos best wins where gane and blaydes
prime nganou lost to aging stipe and blackbeast

look at his resume he look like a bad ass knocking out 40 yr old should be retired fighters like
jds overeem and manymore

loool
dude wont even strike with gane
This is all 100% refutable, but I want even bother because it's so incredibly asinine.

I don't believe that either of them necessarily ducked, but if I had to pick it'd be Jones. He blatantly waited until Ngannou was gone to make his move..
I dont think this is honest. Jones vs ngannou didn't make sense until Ngannou was back from injury and they had a interim champ with cyril already. That was basically ngannous first defense after beating stipe. When exactly was jones supposed to fight ngannou before? Jones was clearly waiting for him and he didn't show up so the ufc went gane. Personally i think that one is pretty black and white.

Jones had been teasing his move to heavyweight for a decade. You don't think that the UFC would have thrown Jones in instead of Gane?
Nah. He made the calculated decision to wait for an easier match-up. He's an absolute sociopath on top of being one of the best ever, but he's goddamned smart about every move he's made in his career. I can't remember a single short notice fight he's had since winning the belt.

I don't think anything about the situation was black and white, unfortunately. Just a whole lot of half-truths from Dana.

Missing the point of Ngannou getting offered the fight?
Actually yeah. I don't see it. There's a vague comment about a clause with the pay. There aren't any numbers. No dates offered.

gane was holding an interim title.

Most champions dont fight short notice fights...

In a sense, Francis kinda "ducked" Lewis as well. Can I blame him? No. But I go above and beyond to look for the truth in every situation and Francis has the humility to know he's a human that hasn't been wrestling his whole life. I feel like Francis was under contract when Jones fought Cyril. Had Jon's performance not been stellar, they likely would have fought. But now Francis has a legitimate case that convinces the world he had good reasons to leave when he did. I'd take it and run with it, too.

I meant against Lewis, sorry. Should have specified.

Even before he was champ, he wouldn't do it. He just doesn't take the risks with his career. It's smart.

Honestly think UFC wasn't going to risk Jones getting KO'd by Ngannou for his last fight and put an end to it. Imagine how bad UFC would have it if their GOAT was KO'd and the guy who did it went to PFL. It sucks but that's the best business move. The best they gave Ngannou was a 3 fight extension.

Well Big Frank left the minute Jon Jones announced his return, pretty interesting that.

I don't think neither man ducked. It was a back and forth thing if you look at the timeline. Jones just didn't decide to sign right after Francis left. He was already in camp by then. Fight announcement doesn't mean the fight wasn't set behind the scenes.

Did Jon Jones duck Ngannou or did Ngannou duck Jones? Very calculated of Jones to call Francis a pussy only after a fight between then could never happen. I'm going with Jon ducking Francis in this situation. Waited for Ngannou to sign elsewhere, came out of the woodwork with a cherry picked opponent for an easy win for the title, and will beat up a mummified Miocic before retiring.

Ngannou ducked Lewis. Francis won the belt in March and said he wanted to fight Jones in June. Well that fight wasn't happening obviously but he refused to fight Lewis. He was offered the fight for June, July, August and September but said no to each. But he maintained he would fight Jones on any of those dates.

The UFC ducked the Lewis rematch.

The first fight was so shit it's hard to get people excited for a rematch.

Psychopaths don't duck.
Jones ducked short notice MW Chael Sonnen.

Well to be fair it was not he was scared of losing just that he did not have a convenient excuse if he did lose. And losing to Chael would have broken him.

It was a high risk low reward situation and Jones wanted to be in the best possible situation to beat Chael.
